On any given Saturday, you will find plenty of Vol fans cheering (or crying) for their team that never attended the university... Are you going to tell them that they aren't real fans?

Georgia is a state school that accepts state funds. If these Georgia fans pay taxes, then they certainly have ties to the Univ of Georgia.

Anyway, I said that their fans didn't go there OR HAVE NO TIES TO THE UNIVERSITY AT ALL. I actually went to Tennessee my first year but ended up back at Georgia Tech. My late mother went there when she was in college and actually was good friends with Pat Head (That is Summit to the ones who didn't know her back then) Is that fine with you? I don't even know why I need to explain myself to you anyway... Would have loved to move back to Tennessee because I love the women and the atmosphere, but Georgia Tech is a completely better education. My entire family is from Chattanooga and I love the area and actually would not mind moving back there someday.

Are you really going to say because people pay Georgia taxes that they have ties to the university? Give me a break. It's time for you to not be so bitter. I bet you say "we" too when you're referring to the Vols. You're one of those.

It's time to stop being an internet badass.

I hate the University of Georgia because every "fan" of theirs says "awg" in any word they see fit....

At the UGA/UT game (in Athens) in 2002, some Georgia fans tried to pick a fight with me and one other dude. That was the James Banks, CJ Leak year when we were terrible at QB. I really was surprised Georgia didn't kill us in that game, but still, they won...why were the fans pissed at us?
After the game, about either UGA guys came up and shoved my buddy in the back. When we turned around, we saw that it really was all eight of them wanting to take on just the two of us. We realized that neither one of us was Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, or Rod Wilks, so we turned and got the hell out of there.
Also, everywhere we went on and near campus was awful. I got yelled at, and had stuff thrown at me the whole time I was there. Oh, I almost forgot about the guys sitting behind us that kept kicking us in the back during the game, and then acting like it was an accident whenever we'd tell him to cut it out.
Miserable experience. I'll never go back to Athens.

This post is dead on. My inlaws are from GA and they like to give me a hard time about being a TN fan. The problem is they didnt even know they opened up at Stillwater this year and after talkin trash about being South Carolina, they ask, "who we play next week?" haha and they call themselves "fans"

My two trips were similar...btw i went the second time because I gave em the benefit of the doubt. No more trips for me and for this reason its the game I circle every year!

I actually have been around Athens many times (for the "partying" scene and the women--good times.)

When I was up there I drove around in my truck and waved a UT flag around on a gameday after UGA beat Colorado State (barely) one year. I had a megaphone and sang rocky top at people tailgating after their "great victory". Fun times!

I don't remember the year, but I have hated GA ever since Jim Donnan and Phil Fulmer met at mid-field after a GA loss. Fulmer had his daughter at his side. Donnan refused to shake Fulmer's hand. That did it for me.
