Get 1 Home Game a Year- Which Should I Choose?

even though we are OT a bit, I've gotta say that bama doesn't rate as much of a rival anymore. Granted i'm only 26 but really has it been much of a rivalry for the last 10 years? I'd go with UGA, and UF being a tie for first.

LSU will be the team to beat in the west this year.

If a team in the West that will finish 2nd or 3rd is the team to beat, what is the West champ? The team to lose to?

You need to pick more than 1 or you might get disappointed. I'll share my first 2 years of living outside Knox and picking just 1 game:

2000- I picked UF and our seats happen to be on the 5 yard line of the endzone where they scored to win.

2001- I picked UGA that year and watched (from the same seats) as they scored to win.

2 consecutive years I got an upclose seat to our loss. I never picked just 1 game again. But if you have to choose I would go with UF.

If i had a choice it would be real simple.


the FLORIDA game. Has always been a good rilvalry. better when spurrier was there, but it is the florida game. gotta see it at least once in my life.


bama would be second followed by the cal game. i think the cal game has the chance to be a classic game in college football history. we always play real good games against pac-10 teams.

I would say the Florida game because you could go to the LSU game but you never know what would happen before then....we could really suck with a bad record late in the season (again) or both teams be bad and it be a meaningless game. While if you go to the Florida game you atleast know that both teams will more than likely be ranked and its a primetime game aired on national television

Well I was gonna say LSU but I was at the Florida game in '00 when the receiver pretended to be a basketball goal as the Football went through his arms straight to the turf and it was called a TD. The crap I listened to from the Gator people that came up for the game was unbearable and I had to restrain myself from sending a few Gator fans to their favorite dentist. While I agree the Bammer is historically our biggest nemesis, since the Darth Visor days I believe crushing the Gators has become more fun...

Go to the Florida game. The atmosphere in 2004 when we beat them was unreal. Also, all of Knoxville was absolutely rocking after the game. Nothing between the years of 2001-2005 came anywhere close to equaling the excitement of that night.

The bars probably won't be so hopping for Homecoming, because every Fraternity on campus will be throwing a huge party. The LSU game could still be great, but nothing gets UT students fired up like beating Florida. Especially in Knoxville. That's the one game I'll be trying to attend this year.

As to your mention of Bama, they will most likely come into Neyland with 2 losses (Ark and UF.) Where our offense could only get better from last year, they lost Brody Croyle and Prothro will not be back. Look for Bama to rack up another 6 points against our defense. If we cannot put more than 14 points on Alabama this year, then whether one picks the UF, Bama, or LSU game to go to, it won't matter...we will lose all of them.

With an objective look at Bama, if they stay healthy the can make serious noise.... JPW is a more mobile QB than Brodie, the O-line will be much improved and DJ Hall isnt all that bad. Bama will probably win all 7 home games before Auburn and I think they will be in, if not win, every away game... the team is younger but much more balanced...

I vote for LSU. That game only comes around every so often. UF is every other year and we have a HC every year. LSU will be just as good of a game as UF. GEAUX to the LSU game.
