To have a TEAM it requires 100% commitment from all involved. IMO there has not been 100% commitment from several current players and if I'm right, then they need to move on. I have 100% confidence in Coach Pruitt and his staff, and I'm standing shoulder to shoulder with them until AD Fulmer says it's time to pull the plug. I'm old and have been a season ticket holder since 1970, so this is not my first rodeo. I'M 100% VFL

Derek Dooley, 3-1 after 4 games in his second year, with a 42-16 win over Montana, 45-23 win over Cincinnati, 41-10 win over Buffalo, and a 33-23 loss to Florida

Butch Jones, 2-2 after 4 games in his second year, 38-7 win over Utah State, 34-19 win over Arkansas State, 34-10 loss to Oklahoma, and a 35-32 loss to Georgia

Jeremy Pruitt, 1-3 after 4 games in his second year, 38-30 loss to Georgia State, 29-26 loss to BYU, 45-0 win over UTC, 34-3 loss to Florida

Dooley and Jones had better second years than Pruitt will have by a large margin, and both ended up failing long term. Why is it that you believe Pruitt will somehow buck the trend?

It's also disconcerting that both Georgia and Florida are better today and have better coaching than Dooley's and Butch's second years. Alabama is still Alabama. It's a hard road ahead.

Because he has a southern accent and says “aight” 40 times an hour and looks like he probably drives a pickup truck.

I’m not being an a$$ by saying that either. I’ve actually heard people say that’s when they knew he was our coach. 🙄

Why are so many people willing to turn against the players, who choose to come to school here and play, instead of the coaches who are paid for whatever allegiance they may have?

I’ve never understood that.

Good point. And this group of coaches has earned the criticism. It’s not like they’re catching flak for going 5-7 or 6-6.

When you put it like that, its hard to argue. But why is it so many think that after all that, UTAD his going to buck the trend in replacing him?

Wins and losses have nothing to do with the fans. Stop thinking you’re important to the game.

Pee wee teams all over the world win games when 15-20 people show up to watch.
Likewise, the 100 or so VN posters who post and cry day and night about how horrible this staff and team and the situation are will have little or nothing to do with what happens with the program going forward. Doesn't slow you and the other whiners on here much, though, does it?

Youre right about their record.

Agreed. These players have remained through coaching changes, losing seasons, and upheaval. They are the VFL’s, even if they aren’t playing as well as you’d like to see.

These coaches come and go, and get paid a kings ransom to wear gear with the Power T on it. If they would get paid more elsewhere they’d gladly change clothes.

So why in the world do people invariably pledge blind allegiance to the coach until somebody like Fulmer decides they shouldn’t?

What the hell are you talking about? A few people on a message board posting their opinions on something they know little to nothing about, or the 70-80 thousand that show up to the games that many here say are the problem?

Lol.
