What does it mean?

I see a coach doing what any coach at UT should be doing. I see others thanking God for Butch Jones because he "gets it".

Has there ever been a coach that has been in a position to receive such praise and accolade for simply doing what is expected of him than our very own Butch Jones?

The greatest compliment I can give Jones is that he isn't Dooley.

He's knocking it out of the park man! After 4 years of a sleaze ball and an incompetent why not enjoy what he's doing. Just get it.

Apparently you're missing the fact that he almost instantly brought our school to number one in recruiting.

That deserves far more than a compliment of "he isn't Dooley".

You have got to be kidding me. You are obviously just looking to stir the pot. If thats the greatest compliment you can give BJ, you arent paying attention. You better wake up and enjoy the fact that you have a coach that "gets it"!

Actually getting done what is expected is a rare thing. Enjoy the fact that at this point he is meeting and exceeding even the most ridiculous expectations.

The last 2 did not even get close to do what is expected of them and the one before did for most part but then stopped doing what was expected of him......

No one was expecting such a strong class at this point of time. Given the limited opportunities to show who he is... butch has done much much more than what is required of him.

A team with 3 consecutive losing seasons has the number 1 recruiting class at this point of time... I know we wont finish number 1 but who cares...:rock::rock:

Really? As skeptical as I've been, or realistic as I prefer to call it, I can see the light years of difference between Butch and anyone else we could've hired. Butch didn't just come in and "do the right things" more like he just is the right guy. He's embracing OUR tradition, bringing back OUR former players and coaches, has jump started the excitement for the program with both this approach and our #1 ranked 2014 recuiting class, and....HE GETS IT. He gets it means he just knows what UT needed right now - like he's been a Vol all his life. He may not have been our first choice, he may not have been the best coach in America job hunting at the time, but I've no doubt the he was the man most specifically qualified for what UT needed to wake back up to success. We'll see in the fall and coming seasons if he can keep up the steam, but we're talking about what he has done thus far.

This thread is reminiscent of something that utfantillidie would start.

OP starts a thread, stirs up the pot, and then vanishes from defending his post from all the disagreements with it posted later on. Fantastic.

"He Gets It!"
He gets that Tennessee Football is a proud and storied program. He gets that to be a powerhouse, a foundation must be laid and recruits have to be excited to dawn the Orange and White. He gets the fact that for a lot of UT fans football isn't just a few months out of the year. He gets loyalty to the university and how much former players mean to not only the fans, but to the development of a winning attitude. He gets that there is no better place to be on a crisp Saturday afternoon, then screaming your lungs out with 100,000 people in Neyland Stadium.

Butch has made me excited for the upcoming season for the first time in awhile. He gets that not only do the players have to buy into the process, the fans have to as well.

GO VOLS!!!!!

If you are this desperate for attention, I suggest you drop by a local animal shelter and adopt a pet.

Even a troll, such as yourself, should have at least ONE friend. :bash:
