Getting the call

I agree with the call/no-call since we won. But to say that wasn't a foul is plain homerism.

the rules are being quoted for you and are just a google search away. Had the UGA played put a body on his man then it would probably have been a foul

OK, I watched it again. Brian went up over his back, spun him around, tea-bagged him, stuck his tongue in his ear and pulled Barnes down on top of him.

And I still feel a little dirty.

Really? I sure don't.

I'm not going to get into debating whether God Himself saw it as a foul on BW, a foul on Georgia, or a no-call.

It would have been close either way, in any case.

But, more importantly, the refs will almost ALWAYS swallow the whistle in that situation, with less than 1 second remaining on the clock and half of both teams attacking the rim like maniacs. What would they stand to gain by calling a foul in that mess, when the most likely outcome is overtime if they just shut up?

They called it appropriately (even if not perfectly), BW made a lucky shot, that's the way it goes.

You guys saying it's a blatant "over the back" call are just plain wrong. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're under the false assumption that a player with position is the only one entitled to a rebound. Well, you're wrong.

Over the back is not a real foul. BW did not initiate contact and grabbed the ball, for the most part, within his vertical plane. An "over the back" call is just a pushing foul. The rebound was clean.

After I watched it a few times, I'm starting to think the no-call was correct. It's a similar scenario to the end of the Michigan State game last season. JP's foul at the end foul definitely looked bad, but after a few replays, it seems like it was clean block.

Wow I just watched the highlights on ESPN.com and we totally got away with a shot-clock violation around the 2:30 mark in the second half on a Josh Bone floater.

That much has been obvious from the start. Thanks.

According to the rules, it was a foul. And honestly, pretty hard to argue it wasn't a foul. A player has a vertical right to his space. BW jumped into that space and got the ball.

I've watched it 100 times...I have no idea how you can say Brian was fouled. The guy couldn't have fouled him if Brian hadn't leaped over his back.

I'm glad we won, but between that and the shot clock violation, we got lucky.

There were only 2 questionable calls during the game?

False. If no contact is made, BW has every right to snatch that ball from the UGA players "vertical space"

How many times did Goins not get vertical space?

Obviously you are only seeing what you want to see. BW initiated contact and went over the back. If you don't see it, no big deal. We won regardless.

I coach basketball at junior high level. The refs tell me that if the player in thr front position is standing straight up and not boxing out then its a "no call" situtation. The Ga player was almost standing straight up and really was not boxing out. This situtation is why I strictly enforce proper boxing out with my players. The game ended like it should have!

i agree

I'm assuming he means the B Williams no call for the over the back rape he gave the Georgia player.

BUT A SEC WIN IS AN SEC WIN SO I'LL TAKE IT!!!!!!!

What are you talking about? Brian had the ball before the other dude bruce even said.
