Giving Kurt Schmidt, strength coach, just a one year extension…

Of course there were injuries! It's football. There's always going to injuries, but we weren't decimated like in years past and the only serious injuries I can think of were Pili and Thomas. That's pretty remarkable to me.
I remember hobbling Samp, Squirrel, Thornton, and Bru out there because they were all we had and Pili missing most of the year so I'll agree to disagree

Heupel was barely able to field a team vs OSU. A lot of injuries by seasons end. Don’t know if it was strength coach, trainers, players or just bad luck.
Football is a tough sport and a lot of players are injured. We actually, lost fewer players than many other teams. I don't think S&C was/is a problem with Tennessee in any of our sports. You will always have injuries at position where the most contact is made. That is why talented depth is son important if you want to win championships.

We got to get stronger as a team, injuries are going to happen. But getting pushed around at the LOS means your not strong enough. We’re getting there, but we have to keep getting better there. GBO
I've been particularly disappointed in Heard. He wasn't at all what I expected coming from LSU. He looked out of shape all season and the number of mental mistakes he made frustrated the life out of me! I hope he's dedicated himself to the weight room to get leaner/stronger this off season. He's about 30 pounds overweight and it looked like all of it was in his gut.
