Glenn Beck compares attendees of Nowegian youth camp to Hitler Youth.

I personally don't think he's a "christian" not only because of his comments about.. well.. not being a Christian. Also because I know a lot of Christians around here who claim to be Christians who act like they've never read the Bible. That being said, I don't believe there are Muslim terrorist either. I know Muslims that wouldn't harm a fry.

Serious, semi-related question: Why do people keep mentioning Timothy McVeigh as an example of a Christian terrorist?

Wasn't he agnostic?

He claimed he was, but took a Catholic sacrament before his execution (per Wikipedia).

In any case, I hardly think that puts him in the 'Christian Terrorist' category. I can understand labeling Breivik that way, but not McVeigh. His bombing had nothing to do with religion.

Eh, don't feel bad. He's now taking on Campus Crusade for Christ because they shortened their name to "Cru" for several reasons but Beck is saying it's because they are thin-skinned and were afraid to have the name "Christ" in their title (not the reason).

He's just a big name who will say anything to cause controversy and drive up ratings. I personally wish he'd go away.

Beck is on my list of people I wish I never knew existed.

Why do you say that??

You use bourgeois a little too much.

Do you even make points? Or just copy paste 'clever' puns and jabs from others' blogs. I'm guessing the latter.

Breivik was more of a nihilist than anything.

I've mentioned before the same sort of mentality is becoming more and more evident in young Americans, yourself included.

What if instead of characterizing Breivik as a 'christian terrorist', we characterized him as a 'gay terrorist.'

Anorak News Anders Behring Breivik’s Gay Knights Templar 2083: Hunting The Serbian Warlord In Liberia

Breivik liked to dress up. He lived with his mum. We have yet to find an old flame. Breivik’s sexuality remains an untapped theory.

Some Norwegian journalists tracked down a childhood friend of Breivik who had last seen him about a year ago, was the same age (30) and attended school with him even prior to the sixth grade.

He said that Breivik had been bullied in school and along about the sixth grade had started taking steroids and working out in the gym to improve his image and had later on come to America and had some cosmetic surgery done that he hoped would make him more attractive.

The following is a quote from the article:

Despite a clean shave and well-coiffed hair, Breivik was still unlucky in love. “He has never had a girlfriend, as far as I know,” the friend told Dagbladet, and Breivik may have never even been with a woman. He denied being gay, despite a photo of him dancing at the 2004 gay pride parade in Oslo. Breivik talks up his desire for women in his manifesto, claiming he was "fit like hell" and that women approached him on occasion.

So you have a guy who dances in a gay pride parade but denies being gay, a guy who attended no church and had no known association with any Christian group but claims to be a Christian.

You have a guy who killed nearly 80 people and wanted to start a war, he is more like Charles Manson who wanted to do the same thing.

Do you think Charles Manson was a christian terrorist?

Apparently, Breivik's statements in which he calls himself a member of the Knights Templar and his statement from page 1307, which GS was kind enough to provide, in which he says, "I believe in Christianity as a moral platform" are both indicators that he is definitively not Christian.

Being a Christian and using Chritianity as a moral platform are distinctly two different animals.

Adolph Hitler used Christianity as a moral platform early on when it suited his purposes but that was just political rhetoric.

If you notice in the link above where Breivik refers to various people as christian-agnostic, christian-atheist, you find that this new Knights Templar supposed organization doesn't really consider itself Christian.

It is more of a defending culture than defending Christianity group.

What's more Breivik, who evidently had deep sexual issues was resentful of the rape of native women by immigrants.

Why do you say that about me??

And you used to be so nice and polite.

I merely defended Beck's question about the anti-Israel camp.

Without question Beck's slant does have merit.

Breivik is a gay Muslim. I knew it.

The issue isn't why he killed innocent people - it's whether he did so while simultaneously thinking of naked men.

I happened to listen to his radio show that day. This "quote" is so far out of context it's not even close. The hitler youth camp part was said but not about the victims. Before some of you run with something make sure it's 100% true and not what you just want it to say!

Are you coming on to me? gay

Why, are you interested??

No, actually I was pointing out how much you and
Breivik have in common, not hard to see you two
would have a natural attraction.

Apparently Only Islamic Terrorists Have a Just Cause! Coach is Right

Since Nidal Malik Hasan murdered 14 people at Ft. Hood
in 2009, the Washington Post has published fewer than
40 articles which have mentioned the “allahu akbar”
shouting, terrorist killer. And most of these have
expressed sympathy for the poor Major’s pressure filled
existence while exhibiting a profound reluctance to
attribute blame for the massacre.

Just two of those articles offered anything resembling a
direct reference to Hassan’s Muslim faith, both written
nearly a year after the crime.

In the fortnight since 77 people were murdered in
Norway, the Post has carried 104 articles condemning
Anders Breivik. And in 44 of those publications, Breivik
is variously described as a Christian fundamentalist,
Christian terrorist or Christian political extremist.

It is not unusual that a far left newspaper like the
Washington Post would exhibit this level of bias in
its reporting.

Nor should readers be surprised with details the Post
and virtually every other member of the American media
have left out of the story.

Most of us envision the “summer camp” whose young
residents were gunned down by Breivik as a pleasant
spot for boating, swimming, hiking and harmless fun.
We envision the same sort of camp to which many
Americans send their children each year.

But this was the Labour Youth League summer camp
at Utoya. “It was a summer indoctrination camp run by
Norway’s ruling Labour Party for up-and-coming children
of the ruling elite.” It’s principle purpose was to make
certain that ”…the junior members of the aristocracy
can be properly told what to think…in preparation for
their brilliant careers ruling over the peasants.”

And the first order of business at camp were games in
which “…Palestinian aide boats would try to break the
Israel block[ade].”
--------------

Just last week, Norway’s ambassador to Israel made it quite clear that “…Hamas terrorism against Israel is more justified than [Breivik's] terrorist attack against Norway.”
--------------------------------

Indeed, “Breivik was targeting the future leaders of
the [Labour] Party…responsible for flooding Norway
with Muslioms [sic] who refuse to assimilate, who
commit major violence against Norwegian natives,
including gang rapes, with impunity, and who live on
the dole…all without the consent of the Norwegians”
