No, we definitely do NOT want to court Gruden any more. He is not coming here. To make another run at him would only make Tennessee look much more pathetic than it already looks. Face it, we will probably spend the next decade looking up from the bottom of the SEC and struggling to win against Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vandy and Kentucky. It will be a while before it happens, but to get a great coach who will want to stay here for a long time will take a LOT OF MONEY, which we do not have right now. The more I think about it, the more disgusting the Fulmer firing looks. He probably had another ten good years left in him and Hamilton *****ed Tennessee good with that egotistical power move.
Reading today on other media sites that the Raiders are on the table to get Gruden. I also wonder what happened that caused the breakdown in the 1st Gruden/UT contact. I know it takes time folks, but really, it's a little embarrassing for other SEC schools to fire and hire (whether they're high profile or not) and we're still "searching".
Well, since basically everyone and their mother is turning us down, I would think that Hart might grab a clue here and go back to the table with Gruden and actually get it right this time?! I figure that ship has sailed and Gruden's ego would not allow him to come in behind this total circus, but who knows?
Not trying to be ugly, but would you really have wanted Bielema or Malzhan at UT????
GBO VFL!!!
I would love to see a coach,,, who really wants to coach,,,To take the program back to Tennessee Style Football.... Someone that isn't just about the X's and O's... someone who will care about the boy's they teach,,, the program that is Tennessee Style..The Winning spirit... I wonder is their a coach out there,,that really exist like that anymore...Go ponder on that one Hart.
If the Bears don't make the playoffs, Lovie may be looking for a job.
Yep....Arkansas fans were told the same thing but they bought into the bogus reports about the interest level being serious. He is an NFL guy and wants to stay in the NFL for now. Besides...he could not live up to the hype. No way. I think people make him out to be a combination of Belichick and Lomardi. He isn't.When will yall get it through your heads that its not about the money?
