I never bought into the SEC no matter what bull****.
Bammer has enough championships. I hope the Irish take them out.

Yeah, I hate all the "SEC fans" we have these days. Those are the true bandwagoners in my opinion. Conference pride is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. If you root for Alabama in anything, we don't need you cheering for the Vols.

I am with you. It is bad enough that we suck, but I just can't stomach another Bammer NC. They won last year the way we dreamed of winning against Fla in the 90's by backing into the NC after after losing the regular season game and then the way that ended tonight. This has to be what he'll is like.

i disagree,it is in the best interest of the SEC,to win another national championship game for sure,on the recruiting trail.it is great to say,you want to be the best? you need to play in the best conference in the USA and that is the SEC

1. Loving Tennessee
2. Hating your rivals
3. Conference pride

What makes college athletics so great is the combination of pageantry and pure hatred of rivals. Neglecting that to support a team you loathe in achieving the highest honor is preposterous.

It's not in the best interest of UT for Alabama to win another one. I am a Tennessee fan, not an SEC fan.

This. Im as much of an SEC fan as anyone but Notre Dame winning a NC will not hurt Tennessee. Alabama winning another one will. The SEC will still be the preferred conference for recruits regardless of who wins the NC this year.

Agreed. Bama fans make me sick to my stomach. I like bringing up the two Mikes; Price and Shula. They have no memory of that era. Arrogant arses.

Cough...choke...Go Irish...spit.

it is in the best interest of UT for somebody from the SEC to win the NCG, in the long run,all players want to win championships, and when UT is recruiting,i believe that it helps to have the champion winner in conference, don't get me wrong,i wished it wasn't Bama, the Bull Dogs blew there chance tonight

I just don't "root" for any team except TN. I just watch the rest of the games with interest but am not rooting for one particular team usually (unless specific discernible benefit to UT, eg Team X loses or wins and we get into a SEC champ game or bowl game or whatever).

For tonight, I think Bama's recruiting and status would not have changed whether they won or lost, I think GA would have gotten slightly stronger if they won and maybe made the East harder or made it slightly harder for us to recruit the real good talent in GA. Didn't pull for either team though, just sat there pissed we weren't in Atlanta!

This is exactly how I think. I have surmised that another bammer win would negatively impact our rebuilding which as it currently stands is a monumental task. We compete with bammer and jawja more than we do with ND for elite talent. The stronger they get the more difficult it is for us to become strong again
