Going after Texas Tech players?

Simms may never be the starter but I guarantee he wasn't recruited to be just another warm body. I think the coaches wanted another QB so they could redshirt Bray, but with Lamaison already on the roster, I don't think they would have offered anyone who wasn't at least capable of giving Stephens some competition.

Agree.

Trevante Porter the DB commit they have is the only guy we would be interested in. He is 6ft and a 4.4. Only guy I could see us calling.
Urell Johnson is shown to have an offer from UT but it might not be a commitable offer. Kadron Boone has an impressive offer sheet but UT isn't on it and we are pretty set at WR.

I hope phil sims is not a cry baby daddy like craig james.

Easy now...if someone locked my son in a closet while he had a concussion (on multiple occasions), I would do far worse than alert the proper authorities/personnel. I applaude him for what he did. It takes guts to stand up like that and put yourself in the news all over the world.

If you've read a lot of the information from former player's about James, you'd have to wonder about his intentions. It takes guts if you're telling the truth. If you're looking for attention all it takes is a slime ball personality.

Adam was never known as a hard worker. I can honestly agree with this because we played the same position and I witnessed his laziness on a daily bases. Adam seemed to have a negative attitude towards the football program the majority of the time. That negative energy is never good for a team and can cause some major problems on and off the field. During practices, Adam always tried to get by with doing the least he possibly could. Never do I once remember Adam to be excited or enthusiastic to be out there. It was almost like he was playing the game of football to please someone other than himself.

Although we adamently doubted his talent, we as coaches came to see that Adam actually had enough talent to help us out. The problem, though, is that Adam is unusually lazy and entitled. Many other players on this team, specifically receivers, have a much larger role on this team with less talent. I have always been worried about Adam's effect on my other players because of his weak and conceited attitude.

Attitude or not...you don't lock him in a dark closet with a concussion. Send him home, kick him off the team, but not lock in a closet.

Note: Apparently he does have a terrible attitude as well as work ethic, but with the quickness of his firing, looks as though Leach could have handled it a little better.

He is that is why Chris Simms got playing time over Applewhite at Texas even though he was an inferior quarterback. Hopefully Lane will let Phil know that Matt is not a long term decision and only a depth decision.

The AD at Tech has wanted Leach gone but him winning has tied his hands. This gave them an excuse. I'm not saying I believe Leach or this kid but there was a hasty decision made on the word of a kid with questionable character. We don't know what is true and what isn't at this point.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. :good!: With Kiffin bringing Simms in, Stephens knows that he can't slack off & still be the starting QB. If NS doesn't work his butt off in practice, CLK has an alternative now.

If we get anyone from Texas Tech, their last names gotta be Crabtree or Welker! But I think college is not an option for them.
