Going to get interesting starting next year

What's gonna be interesting is to see how they handle the SEC wars week in and week out. I'm sure they'll have success, but it won't come as easy as before.
They won't be as good as their fans think they will be but they'll be better than the crowd that thinks there isn't any good football played outside of the SEC thinks they will be.

Exactly, the SEC is a different animal. I suspect they will have some success but regularly playing Bama, GA, LSU, FLA, etc could be a bit of a shock. they can look good in one game, but playing them on a regular basis almost every year could prove more challenging then they expect.

The worst possible time for CBV to change conferences.

If things continue on the same course he’s doomed.

One good thing about that is that I don't see Huepel ever accepting that job. He got burned pretty bad from what I understand.

Anything is possible Tennessee has learned that the hard way. I think Huepel has made it crystal clear he doesent want to go back just my opinion though

I think it’s highly unlikely, but if Bob Stoops came back to Josh hat in hand and apologized with an $11 million per check in his hand I think it’s very hard to say no to mama. Most people come around eventually . People might have different reasons for staying where they are, but the place you won a title can make it hard to say know. You should especially know that being a Heel fan.

The atmosphere at OU can't compare to the atmosphere at Tennessee. I'm sure the Red River Rivalry is a big deal for Texas and OU, but Heupel has experienced winning the Third Saturday in October. Pretty sure it blew him away, unlike anything else he'd ever seen. He loves it here. I don't see him leaving unless things get bad. I don't foresee things getting bad anytime soon.

I agree. I said I think it’s highly unlikely, but I still don’t think it’s completely out of the realm of possibility.

Probably about as well as the other expansion teams have.

They join in July '24, but will still play B12 schedule that fall. No SEC schedule till '25.

I believe that is incorrect. Believe they play SEC football in 2024. “The SEC's 2023 schedules are out, but soon, the league will begin preliminary discussions on the 2024 slate that will include the Longhorns and Sooners. Among the options — divisionless formats with an eight or nine-game option, per SI's Ross Dellenger.”

Probobly so. The article I read left room to interpret more than one way.

We're about to enter the era of the 2-loss National Champions.

I don't actually think it is a bad thing at all, but being a 2-loss SEC team going to the playoffs will be a far different animal than a 2-loss B1G team in the playoffs. It may be the most challenging gauntlet in sports to win the conference and the playoffs.
