Golesh to CU?

Correct. The notion that Hooker made Heupel/Golesh look better than they are is absolutely absurd. The track record of Heupel and the track record of Hooker prove it.
I want to believe this, but also realize that despite having a Spring and Fall camp to coach and evaluate, these offensive gurus still picked Milton. We saw last Saturday that it isn’t remotely close. At this point Milton is still the WB who has lost his job at two different places. Michigan seems to have managed just fine.

I expect the offense to be down some next year. The defense has to improve. Heupel is going to have to but you and fire somebody. Something I don’t think he’s ever had to do as a HC.

So did Tennessee.

From what I’ve heard Milton is a guy who is an absolute monster during practice and then the lights come on and he is different. Hooker, much likes Dobbs, didn’t really practice well and then when the lights come on he takes it to a different level.

He is from Ohio, was an assistant at O. State during his coaching career so he has strong ties to that area. Would be able to recruit there. That's why cincy is after him.

If he’s getting HC offers take it. CU aren’t good but man I love boulder so much. Hard to turn that down. Schools a fkn hogwarts

If he were 56, I'd agree. Take the money and do your best to turn things around in Boulder.

But at 38, he's still got many years in front of him, and a failed HC stint at Colorado could ruin his head coaching prospects for 15-20 years. Colorado might pay more, but I think he'd be better off taking something like USF or Cincy where he can build up his resume.

I actually agree with you. Personally I love boulder cause I go once a year. Been to 4 buffs games. 2 in blizzards

Say Golesh does leave, do we promote from within or does anyone think Heupel could reach out to Frost as a OC? Don’t know much about Frost other than he n Heupel worked together and ran same type of offense. Frost seems to be a good recruiter. Just curious to y’all’s opinions.

Which is the head scratching part for me. The situation was clear as day for Harbaugh. The result (thanks to injury) was blatantly obvious regarding Hooker and Milton. And yet, they chose Milton.
It took Harbaugh longer to change QB's than it took Heupel. Milton started more games for Michigan than Tennessee.

If Golesh leaves, I could definitely see Heupel reaching out to Frost.
I would be okay with it too - as you said Frost is a good recruiter.
He got some decent talent to come to Nebraska and ever since they moved to the B1G it has been tough to get anyone to play at Nebraska.
Also, as some have said, at the end of the day the Offense is really Heupel's and not entirely the OC's.

Two things go against what I state though:
1st - would Frost entertain an offer to be OC in a system where he would not have complete control over the Offense?
2nd - Heupel has been well known to promote from within, so would he give Halzle or Mack a chance before looking outside?

Halzle would get the nod.
