Woolworth's in Western Plaza and White Way in Bearden Center. Also Henderson-Floyd in BC.

Bought a lot of comic books and packets of Topp's baseball cards in those places.

Wade's Bakery in BC too.

Western Plaza also had an A&P, is the bowling alley still there in the back?

Remember there was a White Stores grocery store close by too.

First time I ever ummm took the blue pill was at Boiler Room, I was standing in the line to the bathroom and my buddy comes up and asks if I'm feeling it yet. I say no, he says then why are you dancing? I look down to my feet moving without me knowing it, my shirt is gone and I have glow stick liquid all over me. Lol He sets me down goes and gets this blonde named "Barbie" in a short black dress, no underwear to give me a massage...I was hooked. Lol Did you ever go to Fiction when it was above it? It was alright, pretty much a time killer till the BR opened.

Viagra?

Darryl's 1879 on Bearden Hill

That place was so cool! You could eat in a jail cell or on the county fair seats, or in a car or was it a bus?

Garcia's

The original Mandarin House behind Garcia's

Had quite a few meals at Garcia's and Mandarin House. I was always told the one on Merchant's Drive was always better.

What, you don't miss the old Capri theater and that gruff old bird Cecil that ran it?

And does it count to list the Downtown West 8 theater back when it had only 4 screens but was called AMC Cinema 6?

I saw both Total Recall and The 5th Element at Downtown West Cinema 8.

Since the UG and Boiler Room have already been mentioned, let's not forget Lord Lindsey. I've heard convincing haunting stories from a few people that worked there.

I was taken to Lord Lindsey once by a group of friends. The place was packed and I learned shortly before we got there that it was a gay club.

The billiards place in that strip mall off Kingston Pike (can't recall the name but it's there's theater back there and it's kinda near the Hooters on KP)

Went to that billiard room quite a few times. It was one of the cheaper places in town to play pool and not get jipped. :cough: Bailey's :cough:

When I lived there 20+ years ago there was a Copelands and it was delicious

Copeland's of New Orleans was at 6400 Kingston Pike. It was across the street from where Bravo's is now.

Kalamata Kitchen in Farragut

Haven't seen a single person mention it because it's really old but La Paz mexican restaurant that was in Suburban Center.

Terrace Tap House

This was an interesting theater for those that never saw it. It was set up like a movie theater but instead of stadium style seating they had stadium dining tables in there and you could order food while you watched the movie. This was where I saw American Psycho for the first time.

Bar Knoxville
Before that Liquid
Before that Mike and Willys
Before that Moose's? Maybe that was RT's

How about Campus Pub? Penny pitchers and plastic windows.

I remember the first 3, not Moose's though. My first experience at Liquid was rolling balls with a guy friend and 2 chicks dressed like ravers. We got some very strange looks lol

Oh, E. Tried it once, not the blue dolphin but it was pretty awesome. I spoke like I had ADHD on that and I was really funny too.

Idk if that was actually my first one, but those were good so they popped in my head. I was like 27 and my body was a temple never drank, smoked a CIG, weed, nothing. After that night my body was an amusement park for about 3 years. Lol

Which one was Jake Butchers bank?

Jake's was UAB and he built the blue, rectangle glass building on Gay Street at Main (Cumberland). C.H. was C&C Bank, the slightly newer greenish glass building just south of UAB. They also had Southern Industrial Banking Corporation, which paid C.D. rates in the mid to upper teens. Only problem (actually one of many problems), SIBC wasn't an actual bank and the accounts weren't insured by the FDIC.

A&P was in the space where the Fresh Market is today. Kroger was at the NE corner. White Store was in Kingston Pike Center just across the Pike from WP. WS was also in the same spot in Bearden Center, only much smaller.

The bowling alley in back is closed.

Right around the corner from Orange Julius was the arcade. Thought the pizza slice place was on the other side of the mall and called Orange Pizza maybe?

I think you're right that Orange Julius might have been a different spot. Orange Pizza doesn't sound right though. Maybe it was called the Orange Bowl.
