Good AJC Article on Coach Firings

There is no way this is a Must win for Richt. The ONLY thing you can control in the SEC is winning your division. Success is measured on trips to the Seccg for the big boys in the SEC.

Richt has played in 5 of 12 in his tenure, almost 50%. For any TN fan to say we wouldn't take that is crazier than any mutt saying they want him fired. How ignorant would any fan be to want their coach fired that is 11-1 and playing for a shot at the nc.

BTW, watch the refs, big money wants bama vs nd in the big one. RATINGS gold mine for the game plus the hype leading up to it, arguably the best two programs of all time.

Re-read the thread, UGA fan was the one suggesting Richt would be gone with a loss. By the way, there is no such thing as a good article in the AJC. Glorified blog site.

If he suggested that, than he is dumber than a rock and I'm surprised he can turn on a computer. But, yeah, AJC is Finebaum only in print, the N.E.

I hear you but that may not be enough. There is a clear path to play in the NC and that is what the fans want. We have our fair share of loons in our fan base and they will start up the hot seat talk once again.

You hire Dooley...We will hire Richt...Everyone will be happy! :)

You took my original comment WAY OUT OF CONTEXT.

What I said is that a good portion of our fan base views this game as a MUST WIN.

If we lose on Saturday, yes, there will be a good portion of our fan base that will start with the hot seat talk once again.

They view this game as a clear path to play in the first MNC, they also see it as back to back SECCG's, and they also see it as not having an SEC ring since the 2005 season.

I did not say I agreed with it, but I can almost guarantee you that the hot seat talk will start up again if we lose on Saturday.

This is my guess as to how the game will be officiated. Penalties that will require judgement and not procedure calls.

Holding penalties
UGA - 3 to 4
Bama - 0
The Bama players never get called for holding, ever.

Pass Interference
UGA - At least 2
Bama - 0
Saban coaches the DB's so there is no way they ever commit penalties.

Personal Fouls/ Excessive Celebration
UGA - 2 to 3
Bama - 0
UGA is the most undisciplined team in the country and Saban runs a tight ship.

Off topic but I have to ask a Georgia fan while I have one. Are UGA fans going to go all suicidal if they lose to Bama Saturday? Will that be the end of CMR? What are the feelings on his job security? Is this game a "make or break" one.

Are you suggesting that UGA fire a HC who made it to the SEC Championship two years in-a-row? No, I don't think many UGA fans will be suicidal. Bama's a great program. We're "underdawgs".

Nobody said anything about firing Richt.

I don't understand your "must win" comment then. IMHO "must win" indicates much trouble if "don't win". This is in no way a "must win" for Richt and staff. His job is currently one of the most secure ones in the SEC. Only Awbarn fires a HC only two seasons after great success.:whistling:

GA should count there blessings that there even playing in the SEC championship. IMO they lose to Florida if those teams line up again. Florida played like crap for one game and it's cost em. I think Bama takes the game by at least 14. Now if Richt loses his job, GA deserves some down years. Overall record Richt isn't a bad coach, I would have traded him anyday for Dools.

Ever hear of their and they're? But maybe we shouldn't go there.

Good post and I agree with what you have said. That being said I wouldn't give the UGA fan too much credit. Just another attempt from him to crap on a potential hire that could outcoach Richt (Fulmerlight) with less talent.

Which reminds me, what do you get when you quickly drive through a UGA campus?..........An Undergraduate degree.

Don't know what that says about the rest of the schools in the SEC then, when UGA is consistently ranked second or third in the conference academically. After Vandy and sometimes UF.

The new problem in CFB is the escalating amount that colleges are paying HC's. Soon it'll be impossible for a school to fire two coaches in-a-row. What if UT's next HC is a bust? IMHO this $5+ mil HC thing will collapse CFB as we know it. :hi:

Disagree as it is all relative. When Georgia went through multiple coaches in the 90's, the coaches buyouts did not stop them from working to put the correct person in place. No different today. Just the buyouts are higher, ticket prices are higher, and the TV cut is much higher.

You have something to back that up?

By the way, Why do UGA grads keep their diplomas on their dashboard? So they can use handicap parking.

What planet have you been living on? Google college rankings. Then read every one of them. I thought this was common knowledge. Maybe common knowledge doesn't reach wherever you live. BTW, your "jokes" are ancient, lame, and irrelevant.

Don't have to. I'm not the one making claims. I don't sit around reading rankings of universities because it is irrelevant to my everyday life. Only reason it's 'common knowledge' is because you live in this bubble called the state of Georgia, the most delusional state in the nation. I'm sure there is some homer paper you read in Georgia that probably told you you and the other homers that live in the state what you wanted to believe.

The jokes are fine. They bother you because they are probably true and shows how irrelevant you really are.

How many UGA freshman does it take to change a light bulb?

None, it's a sophomore course.

In case you can't spell "Google", here's a link to the newest US News rankings: National University Rankings | Top National Universities | US News Best Colleges

I'll save you a little time:

#17 - Vandy
#54 - UF
#63 - UGA
#65 - A&M
#77 - Bama
#89 - Auburn
#101 - UT

Don't need to spell google moron. Didn't care. Burden was on you to back your claim. As for the link, the rankings included criteria such as tuition and enrollment which has nothing to do with caliber of academics each university offers. To be honest none of the criteria does. Possibly the freshmen retention rate one that's more than likely based on a one shot exam that most students couldn't careless about taking.

Basically the link is much like the university a joke, which reminds me.

Why don't girls play hide and seek at UGA?

None of the guys would look for them.

Um, yeaaaa. I guess I should have known by the "quality" of your posts who I was dealing with. My apologies for picking on a short bus rider. Now back to your crayons! Try to stay in the lines!! :good!:

Quality? LMAO! You mean 'quality' such as starting a thread about a hypothetical situation the financial health of UTs athletic department from a homer publication like the AJC?

There has been nothing quality that I have seen from your entire existence on this message board.

Carry on with the delusional, predictable, and quite frankly ironic intelligence smack.

Classic example of when one can't debate, deflect.

Or Bob Nardelli at Home Depot: paid $124 million his first 5 years for mediocre performance and then another $210 million on the way out as "severance" pay when he was fired.

Or managers at Hostess. They're getting seven figure bonuses for the bankruptcy.
