If he wants to be employed after his football career, he will stick with engineering.
I agree in theory, but once he starts taking engineering courses he will discover pretty quickly that he's gonna have to choose one or the other.

I think most people over look the claim that he mastered his high school's offense in a day. Not that it was as complex as the Vol's, but that's impressive. It shows that he is a for real smart kid. Not just someone who slips by the with amazing grades (it happens).
Oh and he can move.
Just what we need, a QB that can make smart plays and understand the ins/outs of the game and he can elude defenders.

Apparently the coaches threw a Gruden-style test at him and he was able to perfectly recreate the play. I have no doubt about his ability to adapt to the system or even play from day one. It's his size that concerns me. He must at ten to twenty pounds or he won't last long.

Then football will lose. This isn't the kind of kid who will choose sports first. But let's not forget that Myron Rolle was a Rhodes Scholar at FSU and multiple kids have gone after and accomplished medical degrees. If he wants it, he'll make it happen.

Agree Pimp...This clown with all the talent in the world got punked by UK...FRIGGIN UK... with a WR at QB because he had no heart and quit. Buh-bye Bray.

Ahh...the oft mentioned Ky. loss. It's been 2 years but IIRC, Bray didn't miss a single tackle while playing LB on said WR, nor did he take a bad angle while at DB or not "wrap up" when trying to bring down a runner while at DE,

Bray also did not drop drive killing passes, run the wrong routes or drop the ball on sure touchdown catches.

I could be wrong, need to check the film but maybe Tyler was the only player to travel to Lexington that day. :tease2:

J. Dobbs is not a typical football student, he probably has already taken some of the weighted classes for college. I also don’t think he will have and issues with football and engineering classes, they are not that tough for someone who is smart. Both incoming QB I think are compliments of each other, Ferg has a drive to be good and Dobbs has the smarts to be good, they will feed off each other.

Don't forget the Vandy loss (this year). Or the total choke job in the second half against UF (this year). And the no-show against Bama (this year). Bray may indeed turn out to be a great NFL qb. But unless it is for the 49ers, I could not care less. :peace2:

They're tough for anyone...but he'll just have to balance things. It sounds like he's had no problem with doing so thus far in his life (three sport athlete plus 4.0+ GPA), but doing it in college is a little tougher. That being said, I think the kid will be fine and a great contributor to the orange and white in the future.

Why is that? Wouldn't it be wise to take constructive critiscim from your Dad...the one person on this planet that wants the most from his son to heart?

It would be wise. I'm not saying it wouldn't.

I'm just saying lots of people are like that. They will take criticism more to heart from a coach than a family member

I was the same way when I played in hs. My dad would say something and id listen, but think "yea whatever you're just my dad, not my coach". Not saying its right, but I dont think that is enough to say somebody has a bad attitude.

And also, iirc, tyler was somewhat joking when he said the "in one ear, out the other" quote

Wow, this young man doesn't sound like a football jock. This kid's weapon will definitely be what between his ears. I can't wait to see the QB compitition this year. I don't recall a time that UT had this many talented QBs on the roster at one time.
