Rooting for an SEC team other than the Vols just seems like rooting for an ex that keyed your car and slept with your best friend while you were dating. But in this case I despise Notre Dame, always put those mofos in only for them to be stomped by the first team with a pulse they play.

I hope UGA gets blown out next week lol. And the #1 goal of the program next year to me is beat UGA by whatever means necessary. If we can do it in the playoffs this year….obviously, even better. UGA is public enemy #1 until we have beaten them. Period. Screw them.

Conference strength does matter, you are correct. However, in the postseason, it doesn't matter much. UGA winning it all or doing well in the playoff doesn't benefit the SEC next year that much, imo. If UGA or Texas wins it all, I don't believe for a minute it helps Tennessee. It does help them thiugh.

If SEC teams rarely won it all then nobody would say we were the best conference. They would pick whichever conference had the most national championships.

I'm good with us doing the stomping. I don't know how it helps us if every opponent we play is trash. That would make us not look that good since we would just be beating up on teams everyone else also beat.

The only reason beating Alabama feels better than beating Vanderbilt is because historically very few teams beat Alabama while everybody beats Vanderbilt.

But so don't care about being in the best conference. SMU and Indiana didn't beat anyone, SMU was in a trash conference, didn't hurt them. UT would get in the playoff with 10 wins almost every year no matter how the league does, but the league is never going to be bad.

I think for the first time in my life I will hope SEC teams win (until we play them) in the post season.

Unless the committee goes to SOS metrics or the computers used during the BCS, the SEC being received as kicking everyone’s ass and a grinder will help us in the future. Bama’s history/rep alone almost got them in this year.

It was a travesty two ACC teams but more so 4 Big 10 teams got in and only 3 SEC teams this year. We had to have things fall our way to get in with 2 losses.

And yes I would prefer UGA wins even though I hate UGA more than any other SEC team (bad experiences in Samford and just hate the entire city of Atlanta) and we win and have a chance to play them again.
