9-3 you deserve one. Use to watch big John Merrit TSU great coach with my dad on Sunday morning. He had great teams and sent a ton of players to NFL.

If that's Texas State, they probably will get one.
My understanding is that at-large bowl spots must be filled by teams with 7 or more wins first. A 6-6 team that doesn't get one of its conference's bowls gets left out, unless there's a spot left after every 7-win team gets picked up. Basically, a 9-3 Texas State team would get a bowl ahead of, say, a 6-6 Utah team.

Texas State is currently 6-4.

Yeah, I didn't look it up.
I just knew that Texas State would probably end up with 7 or more wins, and I figured the OP would surely be discussing an FBS school when bringing up bowl bids.

10-1 Coastal Carolina is hanging in there against the Gamecocks in Columbia.

The Sugar Bowl reps in attendance have to be impressed.

Tennessee State University (Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Richard Dent, Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, etc, etc, etc.) got an invite to the FCS playoffs for the first time in several years. They play Butler in Indianapolis on Saturday. It may not mean much to you football snobs, but it's a pretty big deal.

You realize we were making fun of the OP's stupidity and not TSU, don't you?

Butler's bid is a little questionable. They finished tied with Marist, and the teams didn't play, so they used seven computer polls. The league declared Butler the winner last week. If they're using computer polls, I don't understand why they would not wait until after the final week is played, which included a few teams in their conference. Sure enough, Marist is now ahead of Butler in three of the five polls I can find. Butler may still be in front overall, as I don't have the results of two of the systems, but it was terrible to declare it early like that.

One conference decided to call its race a week before the season was over.
I wouldn't say that the entire system is wrenched with flaws.
I don't think FCS should scrap the playoffs for a bowl game between ND State and EIU if that's what you're implying.

not implying that at all. Implying that it doesnt matter what system you have there will always be controversy.
