Good News for UT recruiting

I'd rather he had stayed to be honest. If he had stayed it would have been one more year max, so this years recruits would be looking at a guaranteed DC change next year. Now FSU has a chance to get an exciting young DC in there and actually build some momentum with recruiting.

Andrews is a Florida legend, just like Monte.....Andrews is gone and at least for this year Monte is the obvious "bird in the4 hand" for recruits

This was known awhile back -- before the season I think. It's not going to help recruiting. The recruits that matter were already aware of it.

I love the wishful thinking though.

I will not disagree Sab but thought i would just pass on the "official" announcement along with a little Kool aid

This seems like it could be bad news. If everyone knew Andrews was leaving but they had not picked a great replacement it would create uncertainty for Jones.

Joyner is not an option for us as far as I know, so who the staff gets and whether they can keep Christian Jones is the main way this news impacts us.

Amato>>>Andrews any day of the week

dont see this helping much with recruiting other than Jones... who would be a great commit

I would love to keep our current staff. It's just going to be really tough to have all of these all stars stick around

So whom from FSU's commitment list could we sway now?

Its not so much about whos committed to them but who we dont want to commit to them.

We dont want someone coming in there who Luc/Jones especially would want to play for and if Joyner doesnt like what he sees that opens him back up more but I think that would favor the Buckeyes more than anyone else.

I agree that they were aware of it, but these recruits are still teenagers.

Is it true they may go after Lance Thompson...
I like Lance...but that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing...as in the prospect of bringing in Al Wilson to replace him, with his NC & SuperBowl rings, could add a whole lot of bling to recruiting.
Not to mention how much he could learn under CMK. Heck, Frank Wilson didn't have any WR coaching experience...and he's learning on the job. He may be a bright young coach, but the primary reason he was brought here was recruiting.

Al Wilson would be a terror on the recruiting trail, and on the sidelines as a LB coach. You can't convince me that recruits wouldn't be drawn to a coach who has been to the pinnacle and knows what it takes to get his players there....and playing for Monte too!

Hmm... I really like the idea of Al Wilson becoming the LB coach... That would be pretty awesome. I do like Lance Thompson though and hope he stays for a while.

If Bobby leaves and Jimbo is in they will need an OC.

Would not be shocked if they took a long look at Eddie Gran. His recruiting ability is incredible and his connections in Florida are silly.
