Today is Oct. 28, 2008.

the middle class is already suffering . jobs already have gone away and are continuing to go away. And Barack Obama and John McCain are just senators running for president.

you did not put up the entire quote...and the context of the discussion about companies "bracing" for an Obama administration...but you are correct that every one is suffering and jobs are already going away...thanks

Chances are, if you can claim you are middle class in America, then you really need to put your "suffering" in perspective.

I agree that the money put into the bottom has been wasted friviously. And I'm not convinced the money at the top has any trickle down to the middle class in terms of investments and jobs.

So at the end of the day I'm no better nor worse. I either get to see billionaire living it up or a bum on the street corner.
I'm saying the internet exists at all because of money at the top of the chain. That kind of investment capital isn't ever going to stem from Obama's let's spread it around Utopia. It's why the Chinese aren't innovators in the world even though they have 1.3 billion people. Their culture doesn't think that way, entrepreneurial spirit doesn't exist aside from the gov't and investment capital is a brand new idea.

You don't have to be an "insider" with top secret information to realize the middle class is screwed regardless of the election outcome. The only potential question is do you give money to the lower class or continue to give it to the upper class?

I guess the true question would be. Do want your money helping buy crack, 28" dubs, and bling, or do want your money helping create jobs?

Stop. Read. Then post.

All I said is they didn't "earn" it. Nowhere did I engage in class warfare. You can even agree with that. Somebody else did in fact earn that money. I made no judgement on what they should be taxed at, and in fact, said there is nothing wrong with them being the beneficiaries (sp?) of the wealth. I was offering an olive branch, of sorts, and now you have gone and poked yourself in the eye with it.

i took it to mean that you were saying that since they did not earn the money themselves...the amount of taxes they pay is not important...sorry to take you out of context...dang my eye hurts

Not true. Gore is responsible for the internet.

Good stuff.

unemployment has been rising for some time.

Real Time Economics : Ex-Fed Governor Makes Case For Zero Fed-Funds Rate

1.4% rise in unemployment last 12 months = 2.2 million jobs.

Employment Situation Summary
this info is useless without historical perspective or without the starting point, which was obscenely low.

We've only been what economists consider fully employed twice in our history. The fact that one of those times happened after 9/11 is astounding to me.

Obama has NO presidential power now. He hasn't been elected. He is no more responsible for the rise in unemployment the past 12 months than you or I are.

Blame him after he's done something.

that I'll agree with.

I do believe that an Obama administration has been imputed into equity valuations these days.

You're quite welcome.

Let me summarize this thread:

theory: the media, deep in the pocket of Obama, will change the conversation from a negative one to a positive one if and when he gets elected.

your contribution off the top:
"The American people(that vote for BHO) deserve what they have coming to them."

and shortly thereafter:
"I am refering to the middle class people that buy into the garbage of 95% of Americans will see tax cuts.....The middle class will suffer the most when jobs start to go away."

I pointed out that the trend has already started, my friend, and to blame Obama for future problems is highly premature at best and deleterious at worst. You do not know what is going to happen, and neither does anyone else. Period.

of course they do. let's bash them for manufacturing fear. Where do you want to start? In fact, I think it's worth a separate thread.
lean toward manufactured politics of class and social status, that's their real strength.

and once again, i told what i know for fact is going on in the corporate world to "prepare" for an Obama administration...you can spin it all you want (the "start to go away" comment is what got you on me wasn't it...wrong choice of words)

i believe that i already said that, but i used BHO as the presumptive winner...one of my many mis-speaks i guess

But OE believes both choices are thrash and finds it funny for anyone to so passionately back one side while bashing the other. On that, I agree with OE.

thus the reason i called myself out for a mis-speak...duh...no one is worthy of OE's guruness
