I saw this on SportsCenter and I thought that is the biggest load of crap ever. Jeff was just standing up for himself and he got fined. Kenseth hit him in the race and made him wreck so Jeff hit him back when they were out of the car. All Jeff did was shove him. Go Jeff Gordon!

I agree. That made him look pretty wimpy leaving his helmet on. Like he was scared of getting hit in the face or something.

Jeffy gets fined and blames it on Nascar! He sure is a piece of work! :bad:

He SHOULD have been penalized for rough driving and gotten black flagged.

Jeff Burton hit the nail on the head with this quote: "We have drivers who think it's OK for them to do something, but it's not OK for somebody to do it to them, Jeff Gordon's a perfect example.''

I think that by fining Gordon such a small amount , Nascar is encouraging them to fight as long as its not on the track. A little fisticuffs in the Pits or garage will only help the ratings.

If the media would step in with headlines or lead ins such as:

Dupont and Pepsi driver attacks another driver

Lowes team caught cheating again

Loose cannon Home Depot driver strikes again

If this happened and the sponors caught the heat there would be changes!

The biggest differance between Jeff pushing Matt and Jr. cussing on air is the rule book. There isn't a rule that says "pushing" a driver is a against the rules. Punching a driver is, but not pushing, I know there is a pretty fine line there. Cussing IS against the Nascar rules. I know Jr. fans and the anti-Jeff fans are going to be all over this but it's that simple. Even Kenseth said Jeff shouldn't be fined or lose points. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nascar change the rule now that NO phsycial contact between drivers is allowed.
