I really thought someone would take him to task on his facts. No one really challenged him with some concrete facts to disprove him. There was quite a bit of "you're wrong" and "we just don't agree with your conclusions" but nothing to really hold his feet to the fire. Did opponents of Gore and his viewpoint balk on the one chance to slap him down with firm facts?

Didn't get to see it but I too was hoping he would get called out on some "facts". You would think the GOP reps would have been doing their homework to get some answers, or at least take a free shot at his credibility. Oh well, I don't expect much from our reps anyway. :disappointed: Maybe I'll watch when I get home.

Perhaps if he hadn't been allowed to skirt the rules and not submit his testimony, that might have happened.

It was all at the chair's discretion. Everyone likes to bend rules. Since it was Gore and his cultish beliefs, does it matter?

From the part I saw, Gore didn't use facts - he used analogies such as "baby has a fever" :eek:hmy:

Regardless of what he said, he's given his side publicly. All of his detractors in Congress had the chance to back him up against the wall but didn't.

Of course, that means everything he said was accurate. Golly, I can't wait to start living like an aboriginal bushman. My carbon footprint will be microscopic.

Who said what he said was accurate? People complain the guy is a liar. They have the chance and instead choose to say "sorry, but you're wrong" to the nth degree. Golly, I guess if you cannot come up with a decent rebuttal, then the other guy wins the debate by default.

Which of course means we should all live like primitive spear chuckers because no R on that committee had the intellect and/or intestinal fortitude to take up the challenge.

The intellect of the primitive spear chuckers is already being addressed. No need to actually live like them.

What firm facts would you slap him down with? Do they have better answers than, "you're wrong"?

That one would suffice.

The point of my question was that a lot of people seemed upset that certain representatives (namely Republican ones) didn't bat Gore down with "the facts". They seemed dissatisfied with the "you're wrong" reply..as they should be..it's not very good. I'm just wondering what the facts that clearly show Gore is wrong are.

I believe that Gore overstates his case at times. I believe that Gore does not practice everything that he preaches. But, I also believe that increasing GHG emissions and accumulation of stock gases will become a serious climatological problem given what we know today. That's why I was interested in what the "anti-belief-in-warming-crowd" were supposed to say in regard to the (supposed) tome of facts against it.

They ought to fear themselves they have become a self destructive sort would'nt you say.:good!:

I would agree with that 100%. Half the GOP wouldn't know the party platform if it landed on their heads.

Holy Hell Gavol agrees with me now I've had OE and Gavol agree on something if I can get mg that would be the trifecta of the apocolypse.

Don't let them fool you, they only build you up so they can try and knock you down later.
