I'll go ahead and say that I wish California would adopt him, so I don't have to hear it mentioned that he's from this great state.

Well....I guess it is a given from my previous comments...but I have no problem with him being from my home state. I won't say that I'm amazingly proud of the guy...but I have no problem with sharing a common bond with the guy.

I would also just like to add that Representative Barton (R, TX) is the only member of Congress who has been a practicing engineer. And...it pains me to recognize that, because his comments on this issue have been ridiculous. I can't even play the whole oil lobby card on this one...because most of the oil companies are accepting the global warming science (or at least it seems that way).

Al Gore uses 20x more electricity than the average American household. He has a private jet which I am sure doesn't run off of Bio-Diesel. He was posed a question up there on the hill which basically said, "Will you change your ways so it goes with what you are teaching??". He said in his response, "My family and I live a carbon-neutral lifestyle.". Basically he buys these "carbon credits" from a company that he co-founded so he can pollute all he wants too and help the environment at the same time. What a crackhead. Al Gore is a money grubbing slimebag that is a parasite to Tennessee. Not only that, but in Smith County he has a Zinc Mine that is stripping away all kinds of land and trees and also has alot of runoff that contains toxic materials. Al Gore practice what you preach, or shut the HELL up.

I know that he doubles his energy bill by buying "green energy" for him electrical provider. And, the carbon credits issue you bring up is legitimate IMO. I have problems with him jetting around the country all the time, though. When it comes to global warming and GHGs ...that's a big no-no. I guess he could sell his estate...but let's face it...it's about 20 times bigger than the average american home....so the 20 times more electricity isn't extroidnary in that regard...but it does call into question whether it is responsible to own such a large home given his beliefs about global warming. At least he does offset it with credits

About the zinc mine...that issue is crazy to me...I would like to learn more about it (I've only heard tidbits here and there)

Even though, given all this, I'm fine with him being from tennessee...it takes all kinds, we've got all kinds.

Lets face it Tradition, it all about money with the Global Warming issue. It is the 3rd largest growing industry as far as capital is concerned and its BIG BUSINESS. The American people are not well informed about the issue because the mainstream media is mostly far left and that's where the majority of people get their news. Man only counts about 2% of all CO2 emissions in the world so we are are VERY minute portion of the problem. Global Warming is a natural recurring phenomenon that is related to the 70's scare of Global Cooling. You know the problem is most people don't know their history. The Vikings colonized Greenland and had vineyards and crops way back before this country was a country. Would you want to live there now??? The answer is no. In the 70's when the great "Global Cooling" scare happened, the same scientists that are fixed on Global Warming said that the polar bears were gonna die from extreme cold. Do you remember in the 90's when we had the Ozone "Crisis"?? Well know it is WIDELY accepted that the "holes" in the Ozone are just vents that open and close as needed when the Earth warms and cools. Why do you not here anything else about that?? Because the whackos who were promoting it got proven wrong and had to find something else to work on, that's where we are on Global Warming.
