I've heard variations on this for a while but I find it kind of fitting that the Nashville media has seen fit to temper some the exhuberance over Al's Oscar by pointing out that he is an energy hog of epic proportions. To me he's like one of these cult leaders who rides around in a chauffered Rolls while encouraging his folowers to give up all their earthly posessions.

Al Gore says, "Do as I say, not as I do. That's all I've got to say about that."

You behave as if Al Gore was the antichrist. While that simpleton of a spoiled brat sits in the white house killing thousands of good men just to avenge daddys honor. Politics is a funny thing...no matter what it is, perspective is what it is, and current events are just adjectives instead of the primary subject.

If you are going to throw around terms like "simpleton" and "spoiled brat" you must at least admit that Gore is more of a "simpleton" than Bush and a much greater "spoiled brat".

if in years to come it proves to be the case, I'll just go ahead and throw a guess out there that you won't be apologetic.

If these reports are true it should be as good an evangelical going to the whorehouse on a regular basis.

The right should pick this up and hammer it to death ala the Foley case.

I'm not sure if he is more of either. And the fact that it's the "other simpleton" running the country....God help us all.

How does the fact that GWB is a simpleton in any way change the fact that Gore is a hypocritcal lunatic and should never be allowed to hold the keys to anything. Is that your apology for Gore - he's a better steward of his father's legacy than Bush.

That settles it, Gore's now my guy.

heh heh. I agree. Instead of making any concession that there is hypocrisy amongst their leaders, the big tent dwellers just resort to their mindless attacks on Bush. Once Bush is gone will you all please follow Howard Dean off a cliff? America needs a break from the shrill, banality.

Take Gore's cost per month ($1200) for electricity and then his square footage. Compare that to your own electric bill. For most people this time of year it is very comparable.

Will this also work when I take the fuel per mile my car eats compared to his jets?

I'm no Gore fan , but the paper yesterday said that he bought several blocks of "green" energy over the last 3 months. Did he start these purchases after the ocsar nomination or before?

Are those 20 bedrooms occupied by residents? No.

Good for Al Gore for making it. I have no problem with him wanting to spend his money however he wishes. I do have a problem with him telling other people that they are destroying the Earth through their energy practices, and then building a house with at least 18 vacant bedrooms, which are all internally heated and cooled throughout the year. :twocents:

Also heard that he was having solar panels installed,...is that on his new house? Why weren't they in the original construction?

I am in no way a Gore apologist but I have never seen where he's stated that power usage was evil. I know he's said power from certain sources have contributed to certain ills. And as far as I can tell his sources of power are all from clean origins. So again, I'm missing the bandwagon's logic on jumping on his case.

Am curious, how can you know the source of his electricity is clean?

Well if you read just about every news story who has looked into it.....on the flip side how can you call him a hypocrite?
