Gotta Be Smarter Than That!

A couple of kids from my high school went there to play and they all quit.

Jacob Aldridge, Joey Stephens, Daniel Pryne

One guy still plays there Duncan Williams

Clarksville is terrible so if the team sucks and coaches lie to you about what kind of people the are then it's not a good situation. Our running back was a drug dealer and the half brother of Trenton Hassell who plays for the T-Wolves. I just couldn't handle all the drug use and stuff that was going on there. I wish I went somewhere else but everything happens for a reason and I met my future wife at UT so I can't complain.

I've never heard a good thing about the program. I knew Clarksville sucked though:)

You seem bitter at your inability to make the grade at the Peay. I think its funny you come on a message board making personal attacks on a former player due to your lack of talent. If you couldn't make the starting rotation for a Non-Scholarship program at the time,(currently scholarship football has returned) that speaks volumes about your athleticism. Clarksville is not the most extravagant place to live, however there are far worse places to raise a family.
I'll make sure and pass on your accusations of drug dealing to those mentioned above. It never ceases to amaze how some can come on a message board and make bold statements with little or no retort.

Well #1 I didn't even play the same position as that guy so that has nothing to do with it.

#2 I never said I was a world beater.

#3 I didn't say who the exact person was but it is a fact he was a drug dealer, I was on the freaking team. I never said anyone else so not sure who "THOSE" you are refering to.

#4 There was a TON of drug use, again I was on the team, I saw it.

#5 I love how you make a bold statement about my athletic ability yet have never seen me.

Just for you:

I was all-region in football and honorable mention all-state my senior year in football and was a four year starter.

My senior year of basketball I was all-KIL (Knoxville) District tournament MVP and made All-Region.

I was recruited by Ohio University, Tenn. Tech, Furman, Tusculum, Tenn.-Martin, Morehead St., Appalachian St. and UTC so obviously I wasn't a big time D1 recruit, never claimed to be.

I was recruited by Tenn. Tech, Tusculum, Emory&Henry and a few others for basketball.

And I said at the end of my post i'm not bitter because my life has worked out great and I met my future wife at UT after leaving APSU.

I am unhappy at 18 I let a guy lie to me and fill my head with stuff I wanted to hear when I had better opportunities elswhere.

But thanks for judging!

Don't worry about that guy, he wants to put you down, but I doubt he ever got the opportunity to play anywhere.

It seems odd that you were,"Recruited by many schools that gave athletic scholarships", yet you chose to play Non- Scholarship football at Austin Peay.
Nice life decision there,LOL. I believe I would have made the decision to play where my education was paid for or partially supplemented if offered, as you claim it was.

You came on here making a personal attack against a friend of mine. Calling someone a drug dealer on a message board without any substantial proof just shows your character. You were not good enough to hack it at the Peay so you flame those who were obviously more talented than you. I could careless what position you played or whom you competed with at the Peay. You couldn't cut the mustard bottom line. Pretty pathetic that you were beat out of a position at a NON-SCHOLARSHIP FOOTBALL PROGRAM at the time you were there.

Not that its important, but I enjoyed my athletic experience in college. I played baseball at a Division 1 program(I was even on a SCHOLARSHIP). Just an FYI for you and your buddy there.

Don't come on a message board and make accusations about a friend of mine and expect me to sit back and let it slide. I know exactly who you are referring to. The sad thing is that people like you have a forum such as a message board to spread your pathetic garbage.

Face the facts as they are, you were beat out at your position at a NON-SCHOLARSHIP Football Program. LOL.

I could care less what seems odd to you, my family could pay for me to go to school, I'm not rich at all but it wasn't a big deal.

I never personally attacked that person. I was there and IT WAS A FACT, EVERYONE KNEW IT!

When the enitire team goes to a house for gambling, drinking, weed and sex- count me out. Maybe that will enlighten on my character. When I find used joints from teammates on my bathroom floor, that is a problem.

You are making personal "attacks" or judgements on me without knowing me or my situation, so you are doing the exact same thing you accuse me off.

I was not beaten out of anything. I never mentioned one player's name so it seems weird that as you say I am trying to personally attack people. It seems rather hard to do that without mentioning names!!!

Furthermore I was not even talking to you so why don't stick to your 1 post evey week.

Fact they suck at f-ball as I said and I went there b/c the coach told me he was a religious man and I would start four years. He lied about the religious part and if I decided to stay I would have started.

Fact you were not there so get over yourself.

fact I never said the guy you are so offended about was a bad person or personally attack him. Just giving an example of something EVERYONE KNEW.

You also act like I was talking to you are had any clue you knew this guy.

I was talking to someone else who has no clue who the person is or their name, which is why I didn't say his name cause I'm sure VolMania could care less who the person is or what their name is.

I was never beat out of anything I chose to leave and am very happy I did. Fact is I was 5'11 and 170 lbs coming out of high school and wanted to play qb. Not many schools go after qb's that size so I went there cause I love to play qb.

I messed up my shoulder and didn't want to have major surgery so I decided it wasn't worth it to go through that at a place I couldn't stand.

Your responses are comical. Coming on a message board and making statements about an individual being a drug dealer is such a classy move. You called him out by alluding to whom his brother was. If you were so upset about it why did you not confront them on a personal level at that time? Probly due to the fact you knew what the results would be. You are not man enough to make accusations like that on a one on one basis so you decide to come to a message board and do so. Nice, "Religious" character trait there. I have no clue who you are or were. When you post garbage in a public forum however, it becomes the business of those who care to reply.

Thanks for pointing out the fact that I only post once a week. That is the most logical statement you have made. I concede that.

Maybe you and VolMania21 can get together and relive the "Glory Days" during Sunday school. I am just not impressed with anyone who "Claims all these schools were recruiting me to play football and basketball, yet I went on to play Non-Scholarship football". Facts are you were not going to start so you left, injury or not. Congrats to you though, not many were good enough to say they were a member of a Non-Scholarship Football Program. LOL...

Funny I don't ever remember mentioning my beliefs or anything that has to do with religion.

Again I love how you have NO CLUE who I am or how good or bad I was yet keep making claims about my ability, nice you are a very credible source. So you keep making judgements about me when you know nothing about me.

And again I was there in person and saw things this isn't second hand info and it was like six years ago so don't act like I decided to come on a message board and attack somebody, it was a small part of what I said and nobody cares or knows this guy besides you. I do remember him being kicked off the team though.... and like any freshman is going to confront an upper classman about his personal life. Give me a break :banghead2:

I could give a rats a** if you are impressed with anything about me, I don't strive to impress people on a message board that I will never meet. If it will help you and your friend you care so much about I'll send you copies of the letters I received from those schools.

Oh the Glory days:salute:

Oh man I miss them sooooo much let's talk about them. This guy must be on the stuff his friend was selling

I love how some random guy gets into a conversation we were having... kinda weird.

BTW Did you play against Stan much? He is a really good guy. Not like those guys in Clarksville

Nearly forgot VM21 what time do you want to meet for Sunday school?

We can settle this debate in person if you would like. After speaking with the person you accused we both thought you might like to meet for lunch to discuss your feelings about drug use. Since you're man enough to call him out on a public message board I thought it only fair to give you an invitation. After all, he is no longer an upperclassmen, so I thought you might be more comfortable discussing your accusation with him. We meet in Knoxville for one game every fall. Feel free to let me know.

exactly my reaction.... I'm not even sure what to say about being challenged to a "drug debate" or discuss my "feelings" in person off a message board.... That made me laugh for sure!!

The bottom line is you made an accusation about someone and were called on it. If you did not expect a response you should direct your comments to a PM with your buddy. Otherwise watch what you say about other people on a public forum.
