Gotta give Cuonzo at least a little bit of credit

The real problem this team has is no ball handling guard that can score and run the offense with any consistency!!

Blame CCM for not developing them if you like.

They played their hearts out today and gave it all they could. If Barton was a top notch point guard they would have likely won the game.

Thompson could have possibly been the answer, and I don't mean today, I mean if he had been given the point guard position from the beginning of the season.

I agree our biggest problem is lack of production at the PG position, however, I don't think Thonpson is the answer. He is very lazy with some of his passes and is slow on defense. I think our PG is coming with next years class and Thompson will be a two guard.

I don't think CM knows how to coach a pg led team. Look at DT. He was better before he was coached. And CM asks him to start the offense with passes 40 feet away. Makes no sense. You see Donovan ask wilbekin to give the ball up asap everytime down?

Cuonzo is 0-6 this season in games decided by 5 points or less. He will have to make some changes on his staff at the end of this season and bring in an offensive minded assistant coach. Going the last 12 minutes yesterday with only 1 field goal is disturbing to say the least. Still had a chance to win the game which is amazing within itself. Too bad nobody could knock down a shot when we needed it.

CCM hasn't stood up for his players this year. He's had several opportunities. When jordy got T'd up after the dunk against Wichita. When josh got crushed a few games back. Saturday was just another example of refs jobbing UT because we have a coach with no spine.

I bet if you asked every player on that team if they feel CCM has their back that to a man they would say absolutely. You don't have to act like a fool or scream constantly to back your players. This a very common misperception among fans.

I totally agree and my wording was harsh. Billy Donovan doesn't act like a maniac and stomp around. I love that about him. I like Cuonzo's calm demeanor as well. I don't like it when people say he doesn't show emotion.

The difference in Donovan and Martin in regards to officials is that Donovan communicates with them and in a way lets them know he's holding them accountable.

I think the fact that Cuonzo doesn't argue with calls ever ways in the minds of officials whether it be consciously or subconsciously.

100% true! He appears to sit back and just take his screwing. Some coaches demand respect without throwing a fit. The refs don't respect Cuonzo IMHO.
