Gotta love Thursday night SEC baseball.....

I am still waiting for Tennessee to barrel up a few of his lost velocity and run him out of the game. Watching the game last night it was mentioned that Ryan Weathers could have been in that rotation also.

About Kumar’s velocity, refer to previous post and this time actually read it.

About Weathers, he was never stepping on any D1 campus. There was no doubting his fastball command coming out of high school.

Quite frankly there was a serious doubt about Kumar’s command back then. There still is doubt on his fastball command and if you study the analytics of strikes called for pitchers in college baseball you will see Kumar gets more calls out of the zone than anyone. He won’t get those calls at the next level. Vitello eluded to this tongue and cheek in an interview with Basilio this week.

I’m a newer poster on this board and more than likely younger than most on here. I played against Ryan Weathers in the State Championship tournament when he was at Loretto. Never in my life have I or will I ever see another pitcher like him. Touched 96-98 on his fastball and a nasty slider in the low-to-mid 80’s. Most people never get to experience what a 98 mph fastball looks like in the batter’s box. Honestly, I didn’t really either because you could barely see the ball.

Old Timer is the oldest one in the baseball forum, and he is only 28. We are a young bunch around here.
