Thanks for your vote of confidence.....

You know as well as we do that your not qualified.

What you need is a law degree, a sealed record, a vote present record, and then run a YMCA.

Or you need to basically suck at every job you've ever had and almost destroy the Texas Rangers.

Then and only then can you be the big guy.

Just saying you can get an mba without ever having a tax return that didn't list 'student' as your occupation. I fail to see how that qualifies anyone to help run a country

It would be like me saying every candidate should have IT experience since we now live in a digital world

Ex Military would count.

This is called real debate. I bring an idea and you add.

I am all for anyone who has served 4 years to be able to hold office.

Just like I was for them being allowed to vote even if they are not 30, own land or a business and don't have a degree.

So you either need to own a business, have an advanced degree or you could have gotten your ged and worked in the mess hall for 4 years? Sounds like a recipe for success

You probably wouldn't want me in charge March 1 to April 15. There's a chance I would nuke a small nation just to let off some steam.

It's not the federal workers fault that Congress never felt the need to pass a budget, yet everyone is fine with them getting no pay (including myself). If you want to shut the government down, shut it down. You end up looking like a whiny little b*tch when you exclude yourself from the punishment you are inflicting on others.

I thought essential jobs were still funded

easy now big fella

Just saying generalizations are easy when discussing things like education, employment or military service. To make a rule assuming all are equal is pretty crazy imo

You would still need to meet the age req.

I would also like to add that the current situation is not exactly getting us cream of the crop material.

what age requirement? THe things you listed could easily be accomplished by age 22-23

you said 4yrs of military service would do it. Enter out of HS and you're eligible at 22. And an mba at 23 isn't really big a stretch. Of course then the person has never held a real job but that's no big deal right?

It is basically what we have no, isnt it?

And no. You're talking over all politicians. If someone did this by 23, I'd have no problem with them being a congressman. Remember this goes with the voter buy in section so the voters that are voting are probably going to want more substance. The two go hand in hand. Change who can vote and who can run. Both work together. Symbiotic baby. Symbiotic.

I would also not remove the age req for POTUS.

no one should get paid for not working.

If the gov't shuts down and reduces expense even for a few days... we should pay Congress double as a bonus for doing the best work they've done in years.

Last time they paid the employees for the days they didn't work

Why is a Master's in Business Administration superior or special for governing, to other Master's degrees?

I think someone calculated some "savings" during the last shutdown... but truthfully no one should be getting paid when this happens. Gov't workers should have to do what private folks have to do if their place of work is shut down temporarily. They should burn vacation and leave time then apply for unemployment.

I know, it just seems that neocon is putting it up there as some higher thing, when it isn't. It's a Master's. A two-year graduate degree.

I weigh a master in business over a masters in english.

What I am aiming at is that a politician needs some type of financial education.

Do you realize that military members would still be required to work, but without pay?

Looks like there is a great chance of this happening. Just got out if a department head meeting and that was the word I got.
