Who would pay to read John Adams? :loco: That site was barely worth reading when it was free. Oh well. I get 99% of my Vols info and fun back and forth on Volnation anyway. C'mon season. It's time!!

And most of the articles just linked to other news paper articles (Tennessean and chattanooga TFP)

I paid once upon a time..
when that was my only outlet to the Vols...then they went free and I wondered what I had been paying for...this is a reaction to not selling enough 247 memberships

This is what happens when a bloated news organization with declining paper sales is trying to figure put how to cover costs.

I've never understood why anybody would participate in a pay model for information.

Best articles at KNS were links to CTFP and Patrick Brown. I would never read John Adams, much less pay to read him.

If they could just figure out how to make people pay to not have to read ja articles they'd have a gold mine.

This. Who owns the sentinel?

A lot of papers right now are trying to figure out a way to make money and are completely clueless as to how

I just finished reading Brown's article on North for free.

For some reason that one works. I follow Patrick Brown on twitter, and every article he's linked to the past few days was behind a pay wall.

This isn't the first time that they have tried this. When they made the transition from GoVols to GoVolsXtra in 2006 or so, they tried it and failed miserably. It was free within a year or so.

Anyways, KNS, CTFP, or any other newspaper, I am not subscribing to your pay model. Learn to use ads better if you want any revenue from me.

Most are going to paywalls. Memphis's Commercial Appeal did within the last year. Some paywalls will give you X amount of free reads per month/week/whatever.

I think San Francisco's paper is dropping the paywall after only using it for a few months.

I'll be interested to see how paywalls pan out. I never ready much on GVX anyway so that one isn't a big deal to me.

If you are still reading pay sites or even waiting for information to pop here, you are missing out.

Twitter is all you need.

I don't disagree with that. A quick check on your phone gets you any breaking news.
