To each their own. Twitter works for me.

Therein lies the problem for pay to read models. Matt Drudge figured out 15 years ago that anybody with an Internet connection could bypass the media. Heck, Freak figured it out 10 years ago and he wasn't really even trying.

I don't even view it as "gaining an advantage" over anyone. I just know that any paid content will be on Twitter within minutes of breaking. I don't feel like it's my right to read this content for free, and I'm in full favor of capitalism. However, if I can read it for free...well...there ya go.

This. Who owns the sentinel?

A lot of papers right now are trying to figure out a way to make money and are completely clueless as to how

The Tennessean in Nashville did; I haven't been to their site for over a year and haven't bought one of their papers in about 3.

Newspapers need to just accept they are the dodo bird.

I dropped my subscription to them a long time ago. Will never pay them as long as John Adams is the sports editor.

I think newspapers can still survive since they still have the infrastructure to gather information, but they've got to get completely out of the "print and deliver" mentality.

I stopped going there about 2 years ago. Occasionally I pop over there but never make it thru an article.

Butch Jones
Fortenberry
Tennessee Football

All those give info pretty regularly

One can read limited content free on the TFP, Brown's articles included. Some people don't know what they're talking about. :nono: :nono:

Starting with quality, balanced journalism would seem like a good place to start. Adams columns are always written to create controversy or otherwise with a negative slant. Why they can't figure out that they don't have to be "Homies" but should present the positives as well as the negatives. It's okay to criticize, give your opinion, but can you not find any positives when reporting on the VOLS? I, for one, refused to pay to listen to Wes Ruckers mumblings further feeding his super-inflated ego--not interested. I find it hard to believe that any of these writers graduated from a journalism school. If so, they need to ask for a refund. Good journalism results in more readers which should result in more advertising dollars. Geez, you would think they could figure that out--some papers have, KNS is not one of them unfortunately.

Was a daily reader of GVX until they paired up with 24/7 and took away the recruiting news. Now they want a 'script' to continue reading the rest. So hello VN. Shoulda been here years ago. I will miss the regulars that commented there but suppose times change and you make new friends...
