I realize that many contributors to this forum do not regularly peruse the Recruiting Forum, so I have taken the liberty of quoting, courtesy of TriCitiesCVol, a lengthy and most gracious thank you which Michael Palardy posted on his Facebook page today, one that is directed in part to VolNation, as well as everyone who has supported or motivated him throughout his career at the University of Tennessee:
"I want to first off start by saying how blessed and honored I am to have such an amazing 4 years at the University of Tennessee. God has blessed me with such an amazing support system in my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and the faithful fans on VolNation. I want to thank each and every person I have met along this road that has led me to where and who I am today. You guys are the reason for my drive to be successful.
For the first time in my life, I can honestly say if I had the choice to go back and do it all over again, I would. These have been the best times of my life that will NEVER be forgotten. Even through all the adversity I have hit and all the scrutiny I experienced along the way, Rocky Top will always be Home Sweet Home to me.
Which leads me to this, THANK YOU for everyone who said I couldn't be somebody, for all the people who have doubted me, cussed me, and didn't believe in me. I am eternally grateful for all of you. YOU have been my fuel, the one spark I needed to get me to where I am today. I appreciate all the criticism ever given to me from you.
And I will continue to embrace it, because what you don't know..is that it has not only made me a better player, but it has most importantly made me a better man. So again, THANK YOU! for you are the reason for any ounce success I have in my life, on and off the football field.
If I had the time to individually thank every person that has supported me throughout my journey at UT, you better believe I would. I wouldn't want to have been a part of a better University than the one I am at now. As my journey as a collegiate student-athlete comes to a close, I will miss all the special memories I have had on and off the field being a Tennessee Volunteer.
As for my family, I love you. Each and every one of you have been there since day one, through think and thin. Your unwavering support for me is something I will cherish until my dying breath. As for my friends, you have made my time here so enjoyable and I have met some of the most amazing people and made some of the strongest bonds that I will carry with everywhere I go. And last but not least, for all the VOL fans!
Continue to be the best, it was an honor and privilege to wear Orange and White and play for you. I will miss seeing all of you on Saturday's in the fall. Promise me one thing, win or lose, rain or shine, support the guys in Orange and White, I know some people take it for granted sometimes, but they work their tails off day in and day out so you can enjoy College Football.
I know the past few years have been rough, trust me I know firsthand, but the future teams need YOU. It's been an amazing 4 years EVERYONE. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will do my very best to be a true Vol For Life wherever this road leads me!"
