Normally id agree but with our OL he may be big contributor
He sits unless someone better gets hurt and then he gets off the bench a little quicker than someone else...maybe. If this was an all-conference graduate transfer, I could see it. As is he’s a dude who can’t start at a lower level who’s a brother to someone else on the team. We’ll be grousing over this one to the tune of Chryst and London imo.

He is. Posters on here have ignored him, or had Tatum ahead of him. Niehaus has always been the better upside of the two. He had to overcome a serious leg injury of some type two years ago. His frame is bigger and base is wider for leverage than Tatum. Tough kid that played in a tough program in HS at Colerain.

I’d agree, but his frame, up to last year, wasn’t developed near enough to reach that level, jmo. I’m hoping he’s put on some poundage...and reaches that level...

Can a grad transfer be a walk on? I don’t like spending a ‘20 spot on a one year guy who wasn’t even a starter at a meh program.

Yeah anyone can be a walk on and I hope he is. We simply don't have a scholarship spot available per 247. Would have to steal from Solomon or Harris. No thanks!

VQ podcast makes it sound like this isn’t likely to happen and makes it sound like his brother, Riley, is very likely to transfer out himself.
miscommunication? This is very weird. Also, we couldnt really recruit him before entering the portal. Maybe his brother misunderstood and told him backchannel we had a spot for him, when in fact it was as a pwo. Just a weird situation if true.

London was the biggest waste of a scholarship ever. Merely to pay lip service of saying we have a big back. who TF cares? give me kamara molds all day

Doesn’t this have the feel that the coaches are concerned about someone on oline? I still have the thought that Trey isn’t coming back. I’m just guessing of course.

At the most optimistic they’re not counting on Trey imo. He’d be a miraculous surprise bonus. That would have been addressed before now...and better than this guy.

Agree. I’ve seen the practice videos and reports, Trey, even being a miraculous surprise bonus is probably a understatement. Think we don’t see him this fall, if we do, I’ll be shouting from the rafters that he is ok, not just as far as team is concerned. Still don’t think we do. That move on Locklear, at this point of spring practice caused me to pause. Course, I’m not at all that football savvy.

He may be a career backup and come here to sit but...we need all the depth we can. Plus, he has the size that want

There are better OL in the portal. Why would we chase this guy and waste a scholly? Not to be harsh, but he'd be better off going to a lower division school where he might get playing time.
