I got pretty good at tuning front engine/ rear wheel drive cars. I got Ok at front/front, and never seemed to grasp the weight to torque differential in Mid/Rear cars.

If you would like to share tuning, I can snap some photos of my favorite FR tune sometime. I felt like I more or less mastered a certain car (can’t remember it’s been so long) on one of the best tracks for earning money.

It’s a good place to start. I have found that opinions vary greatly though. Driving style, Performance Points, and track play a big role in deciding the best tune for each car.

I think the game is meant to be so realistic that you could spend hours tuning a single car before you find the right tune that makes driving feel effortless. That’s the goal - The car should not feel like you’re having to fight it on tight turns, but also so that you don’t lose speed on the straight aways.

I suspect that anyone who has a tune for every car and every track hasn’t put the time in to perfecting the tunes. I recommend treating each online video as a starting point and figuring out the fine tuning through practice.

With the number of cars, tracks, variations of tracks, and different performance points requirements, the combinations are practically limitless. You won’t miss beating the PC with a starter tune, but if you enter an online race, you’re going to have a very difficult time ranking up without getting the car just so.

I love that game, but I had to make a choice on whether to give it up or to be unsatisfied because I just didn’t have the time it would take me to get to where I wanted to be in online standings.

I hope I don’t scare you away from it, but instead give you a realistic idea of how in depth it can be.
Oh yes. I go way back with the Gran Turismo series. I have been a player as long as there has been a game. Just never with a racing wheel and pedals lol. That's why I mean it's a whole new world. I won my first Daily Race last night. Have had several 2nds and 3rds, but my first win.

I am loving it. Just got my Super license on Sunday. Man, that final exam was tough. Working on my International B Master license now.

I just bought a cheapie racing wheel and pedals on ebay. Refurb. Thrustmaster T248 for PS5/4 and PC. Not going to spend a lot of money on something until I figure out if I like it or if I can do it. It's not their entry level wheel, it's kind of like their next step up from entry level. I have to say, the force feedback on this wheel is excellent. I did not think it would be that strong. The pedals are fantastic. Normally the package runs $300-$400 new. The refurb on ebay was $239. I think well worth the money so far. My lap times have sped up significantly because I don't need to use any of the assists anymore. And you can really feel the course and bumps and the curbs... It's a whole new world, lol.

You should play it in VR! It's crazy good!
