ATHENS — The field conditions at Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium are coming under increased scrutiny. Georgia, unfortunately, has had its own bad experiences on that field: Nick Chubb tore his knee there this year, and two years ago three different Bulldogs suffered knee injuries, two of them ACL tears.
The rain is just keeping them from having to water it. It’s a good thing. The field is well drained and the excess will simply run into the river. I’m assuming it’s Bermuda grass and will be mowed short before the next game and look like a golf green.
We have the best turf development and management teams in the world. FIFA just hired them to develop the turf for the stadiums for the World Cup in the States.
If the SEC or NCAA don’t penalize Oklahoma, then let’s take it a step further: Pitfall traps on the 50.. or was it the 25? That’s how to catch a gator!
Where does the SEC actually draw the line on sabotaging the field?
