Galilee on VQ...

"Vols are in a very good position to land Nichols and Williams. To be honest Memphis has not really pushed for them with King being their top target and they will get him. Landing both of them would be a big coup. UT is not at the level where they can beat UM for their top local priority. But they can handle them on their secondary choice. It is very possible that a West Tennessee class of Hubs, Nichols, and Williams could be Vols next year."

This also wouldn't be the first time JWIII worked over Shannon Hale...

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The gameplan was simple for Southwind High School head coach Paul Edwards.

“Keep the pedal on, keep the pedal, keep the pedal and hopefully, they’ll wear down before we did,” Edwards said.

His team followed the strategy to perfection.

Led by sophomore sensation Jonathan Williams, the fast-paced team from Memphis, Tenn., rolled to a 77-63 victory over Science Hill on Tuesday night in the first round of the ArbyÂ’s Classic at Viking Hall.

Southwind (10-1) will play Hunter Huss of North Carolina in a quarterfinal game tonight at 9:30 p.m.

Southwind just outhustled, outrebounded and outran Science Hill. The Jaguars led by as many as 14 points in the opening half as 6-foot-7 senior Kedorian Sullivan scored 16 of his 18 points in the first 16 minutes.

“They were good, but I think in the first half we froze up,” said Science Hill junior Jaylen Allen. “We weren’t ready to play like we were supposed to do.”

Science HillÂ’s last glimmer of hope came after the Toppers cut SouthwindÂ’s lead to seven points with 7:19 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars responded with a 10-0 run and Science Hill went nearly three minutes without hitting a shot.

“I looked down and it looked like they got worn out,” Edwards said. “I played 12 guys, kept rotating, keeping kids fresh. During the fourth quarter, their legs got tired and maybe that had a little bit to do with it. … Composure. I always try to preach composure.”

Meanwhile, the individual battle between Williams and Science Hill’s Shannon Hale – two of the top sophomores in the state of Tennessee – ended in one-sided fashion.

The 6-foot-9 Williams had 20 points, hitting 9-of-16 shots from the field and also hauled down 15 rebounds and blocked seven shots.

The 6-foot-7 Hale had 15 points on just a 4-of-12 showing from the field.

“We’re good friends,” Williams said. “I’ve got keep on working hard. I have great expectations and put my goals [high].”

Southwind point guard Darious Paige knows the importance of Williams to the JaguarsÂ’ attack.

“Most of our boards come from him,” Paige said.

Allen led Science Hill with 20 points, eight rebounds and two steals. The Hilltoppers were just 3-of-13 from 3-point range.

Meanwhile, Southwind will look to become the second straight ArbyÂ’s Classic champions from Memphis. Melrose won the event last year.

The Jaguars are used to seeing nightly battles in the Memphis area with the intensity that TuesdayÂ’s showdown With Science Hill had.

“Every night,” Edwards said. “We just came up here and are trying to get better.”

^ you must not keep up with their progress. That was 2 years ago, the consensus is Jw3 was able to utilize his size at that age, and now, when he faces guys of equal size he disappears. That's why he wants to be a 3, so that his size is dominant again, read your man Galilee he even talks about this in the very thread you're quoting from.

Like I've said, still a great talent, I just found it funny you call out hale for being soft when a handful of more people are calling Jw3 soft than Hale after this summer. Yet you mention nothing about Jw3 being soft and threw a tantrum about how soft Hale is.

Quite comical to say the least.

I can handle JWIII being a little soft as he is a much, much better player and prospect than Hale. Hale is a homeless mans Williams.

A Crawford, hubbs, Nichols and Jw3 class would be an impressive pull to say the least.
On a serious note and all bickering aside this would be a dream class. Also if Stokes were to go pro you could always add another big man to the group in the spring.

All right you two. Whip em out. We still aren't sure whose is the biggest.

If we are fighting about which ones of this group we land, we are in good shape.

If stokes were to leave yea we'd definitely need to add another big.

If stokes stays, but we make room for a 5th, Id like to bring in a PG(even if it is Landry)

Based on the reports coming about how smooth Nichols has looked on the low block. These 3 would not only be highly ranked guys but 3 guys that, at least on paper, would mesh well together on the court. Would be a huge haul for CCM and the Vols.

What I like is that Coach Zo has them in the conversation with top end talent with a good shot at landing some no matter where they are located. We are going to be very, very glad he agreed to come to Knoxville.
