Great Read: Zach Azzani and his WRs

Very encouraging overall. The route running "5" is disturbing though. UT's QB's all need the WR's to be very consistent in their routes. I have said I like them all- and do. But they don't have anyone who can just create something with their arm like Bray could. They need WR's who help them in every way.

do you watch other football games? Route running on the pro level is a problem and causes interceptions and dropped balls in just about every game played

Ummm, yes. Z called their route running a 5 while other things were 7-10. I am pretty sure he meant that it was a relative weakness for the group based on the level of performance expected at their level.

"The boys came over the other night to my house for some dinner. We’re outside playing corn hole and spike ball and the whole deal. Everyone is sitting around eating..."

They really need to change the name of that game. When I as a lad, we were told that's what the predators in the region wanted to do to all the little boys. Makes me think of Jerry Sandusky.

Well, at least franklin finally made it home...

I read this on face book! It is a great read! I really think the coaches get it. If the talk materializes, TN has a very bright future!!! GBO!!!

It's easy to see that these coaches have a plan that they believe in. I don't remember hearing that in a while. They got me buying in to the future.

If the toughness, coachability and family building are also happening with our talented but inexperienced lines, we have a winner.

As I've been walking around campus the last week, I've noticed a lot of the players that are always hanging out together. I saw Dillon Bates and Curt Maggitt going to Firehouse subs the other day, and it just seems like you see large groups of players always together.

It especially struck me as cool that Dillon and Curt were already hanging out together, even though Dillon is a freshman, and has only been on campus a few days. Pretty good signs about chemistry.

"On coachability. “Ten. That’s where I’m most happy about this group. The boys came over the other night to my house for some dinner. We’re outside playing corn hole and spike ball and the whole deal."

What the hell is Corn Hole? I honestly have no idea and I got a gut feeling Google search won't find the type of Corn Hole coach was referring to.

I can dig it. This is the result of recruiting the right players, both as an athlete and as a person. Coach Z has got a special group to work with.

I hope this doesn't rabbit hole the thread... but I think this is the very reason for Fulmer's decline at the end. The high-level talent coming in wasn't usually guys who were high character too. Way too many personality risks.

I still contend that this past class was the best class signed by Tennessee in 15 years - maybe 20. The character quality and Football IQ is just as important as talent, but have to have both to be elite.
