Why are there so many Mercury fans here? Hell, even Billy aint one of them

Can't explain why, but I just can't get into Queen. Their stuff is pretty cool though. Quite a refreshing take on rock and roll in their time.

My band is also influenced by Queen's guitar work (even though we are more on the metal side), but there are definitely many similarities.

Anyone who mentions axl rose in the same paragraph as Robert plant should be thrown in jail. Roger Daltrey is one I haven't seen mentioned a lot. Lou Reed is one of my personal favs along with Iggy Pop getting in there.

Thank you. Axl Rose sings like complete chit.

"Knockin' on heaven's dough-ooo-wowwwww..."

Zeppelin live at MSG solidifies Plant in the top 3.

If we're basing this soley on live performance then Mercury should be the only name mentioned.

Idk man, if you're going off of live performances, Freddie Mercury is up there no doubt, but Jim Morrison, Roger Daltrey, Iggy Pop, Plant and not least of all Springsteen all have a dog in that fight.

I was gonna wait until his name was posted but it appears it won't happen.

So.......Steven Tyler anyone?

I think Robert Plant was a better frontman than Mercury. I realize he didn't have the same vocal range as Mercury, but vocal range can't be the only consideration.

I'm going with Plant.

Can't believe only 1 person has mentioned David Lee Roth. Here's mine (no particular order):

- DLR
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Freddie Mercury
- Axl Rose
- Layne Staley

Although the title says "frontman", can't have Stevie Nicks go unnoticed.
