Like many of you, I grew up in the 90's so I know what it's like to root for a Tennessee team that kicks ass. A consistent 9 and 10 win team. A team with sold out stands just about every single game. In my short time on Volnation I've noticed there are many people here that have never witnessed Tennessee's greatness. This thread may flop, but I thought it might be an awesome idea if all of us chipped in and posted links to videos showing the former (and future) greatness of Tennessee football.

I'll start us off with one of my favorites - I was 8 years old watching this game!

Here's another one! Skip ahead to 5:20 to see the moment where the stadium erupts!!

I guess 98 is compulsory for this thread, but that season is my personal fav since I was really at the age of understanding football and being able to appreciate it

When Tee Martin ran that QB draw to get us into field goal range in 1998 against Florida.

New fans have never experienced Neyland so loud that you can not hear yourself scream

My favorite single moment ever was watching dewayne goodrich's pick 6 in the nc game against fsu. That basically sealed the deal and we all knew it at that point!

I initiated a thread like this quite some time ago but it does not appear that the "My Posts" link will permit me to go far enough back to retrieve them. Nevertheless, a thread of this type would be incomplete without tape of the "Miracle at South Bend." Enjoy. "Miracle at South Bend" - YouTube

Here is a snippet from one of General Neyland's favorite moments, the 1951 Cotton Bowl victory over Texas, which featured a 75-yd. broken field run by Hank Lauricella.

Here is Fulmer's pre-game speech prior to the 2001 game against Florida, which we entered as, if I remember correctly, 17- or 18-point underdogs. Fulmer had them ready to eat thunder and defecate lightning:

Here are the highlights of that glorious game, in which Travis Stephens gashed the Lizards for 226 yds. and 2 touchdowns, on the way to draining the Swamp.

And, finally, is Fulmer's post-game speech as they celebrate that victory: Fulmer Post Game Speech, 2001, vs Florida - YouTube

In 1985, the eventual Heisman trophy winner, Bo Jackson, and his Auburn teammates came into Neyland Stadium, ranked No. 1 in the nation. Tony Robinson put on an aerial clinic that day, throwing for approximately 260 yds. and 4 tds. Here are the highlights of the game, one in which we ran off the first 24 points and coasted to a 38-20 victory.

Here are highlights from seasons during the Dickey and early Battle eras:

1969 (a powerhouse team that beat Auburn and Alabama, respectively, by the scores of 45-19 and 41-14). We won the SEC title that year but were never the same after the "Archie Who?" loss to Ole Miss: Tennessee Football 1969 "The Year of the Championship" - YouTube

1965: Dickey's first winning season. The highlight of that year was the 37-34 shootout victory over UCLA. You will note that the play-by-play was by George Mooney, John Ward's predecessor: Tennessee Football 1965 - YouTube

1970: We finished the season 11-1 and ranked fourth in the country, including a 34-13 victory over Air Force in the Sugar Bowl:

1971: "The year of the offensive defense." This 10-2 campaign was capped by a 31-11 victory over Penn State, which was led by Franco Harris and Lydell Mitchell. Bobby Majors won his All-American "wings" in that game.

There are many differences between the glory days and today, but the most glaring one is that we used to win by running it down people's throats.............now we chuck it 30 yds on 3rd and 2.

For the full broadcast of the '86 Sugar Bowl, see 1986 Sugar Bowl -- Tennessee 35 Miami 7 - YouTube. The actual broadcast begins after 27:00 mark.

Many of you old-timers will recall a song entitled "Battle of New Orleans Tennessee Style," which enjoyed great popularity leading up to gametime. I didn't know that Miami actually had their own version as well, which is played in the pregame.
