I agree with everything but cal reining in his horses. Winning this tournament means something, and he knows it. The players get a ring for it. Every team will go all out, and the hottest team will win. Hopefully that will be us.

Not to mention a probable hefty bonus in his contract for the tourney championship.

Vols getting alot of love from the national media now. As long as they stay focused and take it one game at a time, I would not be surprosed to see them win the SEC tourney. I'm not sure Calipari won't rein his horses in and save them for the NCAA tourney. SO, if we can get to the finals, maybe they will be beatable. Gotta get there first.
Certainly agree with you. Must take them one at a time and not look ahead to who we might be playing in the next round. If we keep winning, then everything else will take care of itself and we'll be part of March Madness.

It's amazing how one player in college basketball, more so than any team sport in the world, can change the entire direction/culture of a single team.

it is crazy - nba might be even worse - i think its because in most other sports great players can't help you 100% of the time - in bball a great player helps on offense and defense and is a huge part of both - unlike fball where they dont help at all and baseball where you just aren't in on that many plays offensively or defensively

So true. Imagine UK without Anthony Davis. Terrence Jones hurt his draft stock by staying. Hard to comprehend.

TJones hurt his stock so much it wouldnt surprise me if he had to come back next year - right now i think he is the 4th best player on that team and was a national POY candidate last year (Adavis, MKG, and the 2 guard i'd put over him)

Doron Lamb. Most definitely. T Jones has a ton of potential, but you're right. Those guys are definitely playing better than him right now. I don't think Lamb would be drafted over T Jones right now, though. The NBA teams base their drafts on potential. I don't see many ways Lamb gets better than T Jones in the long-run.

Calipari himself may not care about the SECT, but he has commented about the amount of support they get and the fact that some people spend all of their vacation money for the year on the SECT. It sounded like he was saying he wouldn't otherwise care, but since their fans care and invest so much, he'll try to win it for them. I am paraphrasing from what he said going into last season's SECT. Brian or Hardwood or BPC can correct me if I'm misinterpreting.

He's still a projected lottery pick.

Not bad.
