This is happening in what was my neck of the woods for a time. Lots of friends evacuated from their homes tonight.

Everyone in my friend group seems to be safe - pretty good warning and preemptive evacuation after the first dam failure at Edenville as they wait for the next dam failure at Sanford, which the expect soon. But, we’ll wait and see how their homes fare.

The big flood up there was in 1986. When you bought an older house in town the trick was to go into the basement and go under the stairs and look for the watermarks. If you didn’t see signs of damage you felt more assured the house didn’t flood (though flood maps told you the same).

But if forecasts hold, they’ll see 4 more feet of water than they saw in 86 by tomorrow morning.

It's sad how horrible the candidates we've been given to choose from have been lately isn't it? The fact that these morons have been in power for decades and are directly responsible for the waste and pandering and continue to get reelected is beyond me. The fact they have the audacity to go to a podium and claim to have the answers to solve the countries problems, I take as a personal insult, do they really feel we are all that stupid? I wish the rest of America would wake the hell up!
