"There is a certain chatroom where a certain group of people have been against Bruce Pearl from the beginning. They've been having a field-day with this, making their anonymous internet name off this story....but the players read all of it. They love proving these people wrong."

Said on the Sports Page. I expect a blog with some input from Steve Forbes soon.

I'm confused. I thought we were wrecking recruiting and killing the program. I wish they would make up their minds.

Pearl is a master motivator but I would find it odd to try and motivate using some posts from a few UT fans on a message board- I don't really understand Griffith's obsession.

Also, the pep band attending certain games is really important to how UT is supporting the team and Coach Pearl. Griffith is a tool, what else is new?

If they really want to prove people wrong, they should go to Pearl and beg to go back to the "controlled chaos" stupidity. Winning big in March with that would sure show Tanning Bed's critics.

As I was typing my last post I was thinking that. I just don't see motivating your team with message board posts as something you can sustain for the entire year.

I find it exceptionally hard to believe that the players give the first damn about what goes on here.

Its no different here in Memphis, no matter what the problem is, it's definitely the message board that caused it. Making this absurd comment shows true ineptitude from a media member.

Yea I can't see Pearl saying "some poster on Volnation named homefry20 posted you guys suck and can't beat Memphis, now let's go beat the Tigers."

Not exactly win one for the Gipper stuff there.

But seriously, a few months ago VN was killing the program. Now we are part of the success. Forbes must be extremely ticked.
