Griffith implies VolNation is a large source of motivation for team

Does this mean, for example, when Hopson sleepwalks through a game the problem is that he hasn't checked in at VN for his motivational fix?

And by the way, who in the hell calls it a chatroom, High Pitch?

Yea I can't see Pearl saying "some poster on Volnation named homefry20 posted you guys suck and can't beat Memphis, now let's go beat the Tigers."

Not exactly win one for the Gipper stuff there.

Man, if he says that and my cronies at mt.org find out, Im toast. Might have to seek asylum over here for awhile. :whistling:

Not at all. I'm just saying that if you want to really show "the critics" up, go right at the heart of their complaints.

It seems to me Pearl is learning to evolve with the personnel he has on his team. Last year's suspension did wonders for our half court defense.

His coaching style is improving like it or not.

Possibly. That or his major function the previous night was posting on the Milli Vanilli fan page.

Has anyone seen me complain about the halfcourt defense since he finally scrapped the press?

No one will argue against that. But it's funny that his success is built upon changing the style of play that many on here suggested.

Pearl is a master motivator but I would find it odd to try and motivate using some posts from a few UT fans on a message board- I don't really understand Griffith's obsession.

That's why when Adolph Slive says he can not coach the first 8 games is SEC play we will be ok. You will see. These players have their coaches back.

Sigh, Griffith with the USC lack of practice balls again for the 100th time on air.

LET IT GO ALREADY!
What? You don't realize that lack of practice balls is why Vucevic and Stephenson annihilalted us inside? That wouldn't have happened if there had been a couple of extra balls in the rack.

How can that be, when clearly their ability, talent and motivation all stems from the tone on this board?

I want my cut of the postseason bonus pool. Otherwise, I'm going to start speaking well of Pearl and screw the whole damn thing up.

I doubt their motivation comes from this board. However, I bet the players do read VN. It is the best site on the web for TN sports, which is where they play. I am sure they are interested in what the fans have to say. But from that its a leap to say that is their motivation for playing well.

gig's up. They've found the source of power for this team. This site will be covered up in a multinational collaborative virus shortly and we'll be screwed. No jump drives going forward.

I would also like a "Thank You VolNation Forums" banner to be hung from the rafters in TBA.

I'm not saying you did, I'm just making the observation that he's obviously willing to change his philosophies depending on what scheme works with the players he has.

I only make the point because it seems that many on here continue to bash him for his "controlled chaos" mentality however he continues to prove he's capable of more.

No one will argue against that. But it's funny that his success is built upon changing the style of play that many on here suggested.

It's about time he started checking these boards. We have a compilation of the world's greatest basketball minds.

I find it exceptionally hard to believe that the players give the first damn about what goes on here.

I'd think a few of them are used to everyone praising them and so probably don't take negative comments well. I don't think a coach should be resorting to that for motivation though.

This has been posted a couple of times, am I not reading the post right or missing some of it? Where does it say Bruce is suggesting the players read volnation?

Don't people on there know who you are and where you sit at games? Toast indeed if that is the case. I am headed there right now to make sure they know what's up :eek:lol:

Your only hope is that they miss my thread while they blow their load to the latest Easterwood thread or the latest tigerscane "The World is ours Memphis" proclamation..
