If gruden comes to tennessee i see his expectations being the highest ever, especially, for what he and his staff would be being paid to coach here. it should be 8-9 wins minimum for the 1st season and at least an sec and national title by year 4 period. i would prefer him to sign on for 10 years and win 9 sec and national titles in a row but hey we can dream i guess... Go Vols!!!

This is exactly why he may NOT choose to come here. Can't blame anyone though. I think our fan base is on the edge.

well think the 1 national title and sec title in a 4 year span is very very reasonable, as well as a 8-9 win season next year. especially considering what everyone will be making if gruden comes to tennessee.

8-9 wins? I'll be happy the first year making a Bowl because I'll know he will bring in some stud recruits and year 2 & 3 will be much improved . Unlike the same ole same ole we had the past 3 years.

Gruden expectations? Walking on water, water into wine, raising the dead, world peace, cats and dogs living together, a stronger economy, etc etc.

Progress. Better recruiting, top ten, top five classes. I expect a staff that can develop players. I expect good, disciplined football. Next year's schedule is tough, regardless of who the coach is. No one should expect miracles.

Overexpecting for this instant gratification crowd is what always leads them to be so badly letdown and angry.

College football just doesn't work like that and it takes years to totally rebuild a college football program.

The ONLY times you see a new Head Coach walk into a college program and start winning fast is AFTER the previous coach has already stockpiled the roster with 4 and 5 star players like happened to nick saTan at Bama and muschUmp at Florida.

Sadly, Our Vols are not stockpiled with 4 and 5 star players in every class for the last 4 or 5 years like Bama and Florida were when they hired a new HC.

7 Wins next season plus a bowl game win would be a step in the right direction but I want a National Championship NOW!!!

Wanting and getting are 2 totally different things in college football where you have to beg 16 and 17 year old kids to come play for you.

VFL...GBO!!!

Wait until he loses to Oregon and Florida next season. Will the bloom be off the rose?

We need Gruden just so we can compete again much less a national Title. That's where our program has been taken by the previous coaching staff

Sometimes I want to visit other teams sites to see if they're fans are even close to being as delusional as ours. I suspect we would reign supreme on that.

Wonder who the next UT Player/Coach will be that is worthy of leading the Pride of the Southland Band?? If Gruden can place us atop the SEC again, he'll have my vote.
