Listen I would love for JG to be our next HC, but if the only reason he takes the job is because his wife wants him to....
Well that would not work for me, because I want the next
Coach of UT to be fully committed and on a mission to restore UT's Prestige to what is used to be.
So if thats the only reason he would become HC that tells me
he would be choosing the job for the wrong reasons!!

Thoughts???

Are you kidding? My wife makes me do stupid crap all the time that I should have done on my own. That's why I got married.

If JG wanted to come here because it was an easy walk for one of his dogs to take dumps in the library every day I would be ok with it.

I don't care the reason I just want a coach that can revitalize this program.

Good God..That would not be the only reason he takes the UT job. He loves and respects UT and is not doing it just because his wife wants too.

Because its crazy to make a life changing decision
like that and do it only because your wife really likes
the area.
Listen all im saying is that i want to make sure his
heart would be in it not just because he wants to make
his "WIFE" happy.

People take jobs all the time for reasons other than being fully committed to the company. Money, location, stepping stone, etc. Yeah, I want someone on board but most coaches out there not alumni (even then some of them) usually have thoughts floating elsewhere when they take a job.

Alabama spent a couple of decades wandering in the wilderness because they worried about crap like this. Then they hired a mercenary who's only doing it for the money. Worked out pretty well.
