^^ This exactly. I've never understood the Gruden lovefest on this board.

I guess you think it's easy to take this team to the super bowl:

We need to lock him up top a contract before bama does. Make this happen hart.

It would seem people would reference Pete Carroll as a coach who did mediocre-crappy in the NFL, but lit it up in college.

Gruden is the last man I want to see as Coach. He needs to stay in the booth and keep doing his little QB film thing he does. I wish he would sell his land in Tn so the rumors would stop.

I agree. His record says a lot about his inferior coaching ability. But worse, based on reading the article which quotes his own words, we'd best steer clear of him. He comes off as a hypersensitive guy who can't over setbacks and move on. He was fired with cause. It hurt and he's still smarting from what's a four years past event. This strikes me as a whiner and quitter. The UT program needs a coach can take the lows along with the highs and during the lows jump up ready to both fight and raise h3ll while doing so. I think he's awaiting a situation similar to the Buccaners. A team with proven players ready to win, in short being handed a silver platter comprising someone else's work but credit going to him.

I have a novel idea. How about we just hope that DD is here for a long long time and keeps winning enough to keep his job here. That's what I want to see happen.

Insiders in the piggy world say he is coach in waiting for Arkansas after this season. Supposedly deal has been made

Just saying :)

I wonder if those were the same insiders that said Fulmer was in line for the Arky job after Bobby P got axed.

Yes, we all are aware of Bama's nefarious scheme to have two head coaches hired at the same time.

Those tricky sons of...

Fire Saban. Even if he wins another nc. You can't pass up the opportunity to hire a stud coach like Gruden. Every recruit in the country will want to play for him. Can you imagine Bama with the #1 recruiting class 10 years in row? We'd never beat them.

Hart, I know you have people read this board. Get this deal done. If it doesn't happen, Harts loyalties are still with Bama. Conspiracy between Jimmy "Gator" Cheek & Dave "Bama" Hart, imo.

I can't believe Vol fans actually would not want a Super Bowl winning coach, someone who has a 54% winning percentage in two places that aren't exactly the easiest places to win. It's not like he is coming here or anything, but...

You all are either fools or crazy if you would not want him.

Ahhh, no thanks, don't want him here.. he won with other coaches players.. and after a couple of years his teams slowly went down hill.. then he was fired..

People tend to forget the other team he beat in the SB was he team he took from 4-12 to a contender. So while he was winning with Dungy's team. The same could be said about Callahan getting there with Gruden's team.

Look at my second team icon in the middle. I would love for Chucky to coach at UT if it doesn't work out with Dooley. I hated to see Al run him for not winning 'his way' when he made an unprecedented trade of a coach for draft picks.

That being said, I would rather Dooley just be the guy and start winning now. Tired of losing seasons.
