The contract is already signed and sitting in the AD's desk drawer. They have a guy named MITBeaver who saw it, and a guy named borohusker who is in thick with boosters confirming everything the Beaver posts. Anybody want to discuss great whiskeys and long walks on the beach?

SOON Nebraska.

Nebraska needs to interview UK coach Mark Stoops but i think Mark Stoops might wind up Auburn head football coach in 2023. I could see Stoops thinking he's hit the ceiling of what can be done at Kentucky and might head out for Nebraska or Auburn if the price is right.

The best chance of Stoops leaving is if FSU gets rid of Norvell.

He won’t leave for Nebraska.

As I understand it, Gruden made a quick stop in Tuscaloosa on Monday to speak with Saban about forming a coaching 'team', with three co-head coaches. All forming a 'dream team' for Nebraska. Deal is reportedly worth north of $250M EACH over 8 years. According to the same source, Saban is onboard, the sticky wicket being that Gruden would like to ask Jimbo to come onboard as well as the third member of the triumvirate, and Saban is possibly having second thoughts about the whole thing.

That said, Gruden's plane made stops in Birmingham and College Station at 3 am and 10:30am respectively, and the manifest for each departure is one person more than the previous. Looks like the Gruden train is rolling along to Lincoln.

Patience. Soon. Likely a presser this evening.

He would be a pure, unadulterated moron if he left UK for Auburn. Auburn would surely give him a raise if he took the job, but he makes more than Harsin does right now.

Stoops has more than figured out how to have competitive teams at UK, and their admin/fans would be happy with far less than what he provides. He makes something like a top 20 (maybe even top 15) salary. It would be stupid, incredibly stupid, for him to leave that situation for a place where people have very high expectations and try and stick knives in your back the moment you sign the contract.

He'd have to do worse - fight with his boosters and admin, some of whom might be plotting to remove him before he even coaches a game and definitely once he lost a couple games the boosters thought he shouldn't. Hell, I think most UK fans took Stoops's his side during that feud because they are kind of put out with Cal right now.

Stoops has a great job. He coaches at a school in a football conference, but his school is the only one in the conference that cares more about basketball than football. As such, he gets the benefits associated with being in a football conference without the insane pressure. It's a great spot to be in.

I think the Auburn's admin right now has an even worse reputation than ours had after Schiano Sunday. This is not the first time Auburn tried to orchestrate a coup against their own HC.
