GT rb Jamyr Gibbs enters portal

here are the 67 and there are none that were one year guys. I understand that Solomon, Mitchell and Calbert likely won't return but nothing official yet. I will remove once official.

LWSVOL, any additions or deletions? Still trying to figure out with our 30 portal exits how we are having trouble getting to a number where we can take our full 25 new counters, much less take advantage of any new additional portal replacements. You suggested 3 possible guys on your list, but that still leaves us 4 short. Always surprises I guess.

no one has left since the end of the regular season.

the 30 plus you refer to were 2021 transfers. they are not a factor for 2022. transfers after July 1 of this year are factors in 2022..

Fella's not that I need to tell you this but Gibbs is legit. We live in Dalton and my son plays at Dalton. We spent many Fri nights watching this kid tear it up. Dalton coaches will tell you first hand how bad UT and many other power 5 teams botched his recruitment. Pruitt literally told the Dalton HC/OC that Gibbs was 1 inch too short, 10 pounds too light, and 1/10th too slow to play RB at UT. I will say that many other power 5 schools were recruiting him at DB not just UT. I am doing all I can to steer him through my coaching buddies to UT. Don't be shocked if he lands at AU though. Coach Land is an AU alum.

I would like to tell everyone to just leave the kid alone on twitter. He is quiet and not looking for the hype. He just wants to play ball. Not many kids like him anymore.
100%. Pruitt also passed on Ladd McConkey too…who WANTED to go to UT and instead recruited Wideman and Beckwith. We know how that great that has turned out. No way Heupel would let a kid like McConkey slip through UTs fingers. That’s two studs the last staff botched in the Dalton area.

Sorry I was not clear, I was just not expecting trouble making room because of those massive transfer numbers. The whole SUPER or COVID year guys have really changed the normal flow of schollies. Guess I am wondering if schools without the big transfer numbers are going to experience unusual problems too. Anybody that was on the roster last year could have 6 to play 4 with a normal redshirt year thrown in , right? I wonder if some guys with 4 years of paid school will be asked to move on.

Due to Covid, players are getting 5 years of competition. So with redshirt they get 6 to play 5.

Everyone wont play 5 like Taylor moved on. Others will as well.

Coaches will run off players that aren't gonna play. Portal has tons of those right now. Coaches wont have issues doing 85. Covid doesn't require them to keep players.

McConkey was a little different as no one really went after him. My feeling on that is had he been at Dalton instead of North Murray he would have likely had some offers from big programs. Land has really good ties that I think likely could have helped him. Gibbs on the other hand was all all on Pruitt. They were too interested in Maurice Howard the backup RB. Difference was Gibbs had the work ethic. He was good his JR season although he put in the work in that off season and was electric his SR season. Had the #1 QB not gotten hurt that year they could have made a deep run in the playoffs.
