After a few days, I will generally judge a movie by how badly I want to see it again (assuming I do at all). I want to see this one again. Looking forward to the DVD release. The only other movie I can say that about recently is Captain America: Winter Soldier. I've been looking forward to that DVD release for a good while now.

It's not original Star Wars good.

GotG is a really fun movie but it's not really a fair comparison. Star Wars was ground breaking, inspired multiple generations of kids and stands the test of time. It will have some staying power for the next decade or so but I doubt GotG will hold up 36 years from now the way the SW Ep IV does.

This movie does highlight what the prequels could have been though. For instance, the main villain is motivated by a political treaty but they didn't spend a quarter of the movie standing around trying to explain silly space politics. It was covered in just a handful of lines then the story moved forward.

And instead of having a slap stick, borderline racist, digital character that did nothing but get in the way for comic relief, you get talking Raccoon bounty hunter and his walking tree companion that are not only funny but kick butt too.

Saw it last night and loved it. Probably ranks as my favorite Marvel film so far. A bada** raccoon and a talking tree were more believable than Thor picking Natalie Portman over every other woman in the nine realms.

Went last night to see it and thought it was very good. Perhaps not Avenger good, but still better than expected. Great story line, excellent graphics, better villain(s) (than Ironman3), definitely another Marvel win at the box office.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 9/10

I was a bit surprised that it had as much strong language as it it did. However A+ Soundtrack!! Can't wait to see these guys meet up with the Avengers!

As Marvel films go I think it ranks #2 behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier a film that I thought transcended the typical superhero/comic book film into an A+ political thriller. I would put GOTG ahead of Avengers in my top 3 Marvel films.

On a side note TMNT was sold out when I got there its doing much better than I anticipated it would.

I saw it today and thought it was great. A perfect blend of action and comedy. Here is my Top 5 Marvel movies so far.

1. Captain America: Winter Soldier
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. The Avengers
4. X-Men : First Class
5. Iron Man

I still need to see X-Men: DOFP and the most recent Thor.

I'm glad someone else likes First Class as much as I did! I still rank it slightly ahead of DOFP. IMO

Need to check this one out. Xmen DOFP is by far the best movie I have watched this year. But I've heard that GotG tops it.

They are a little different in tone.

Guardians definitely embraces the humor much more. I was worried it might be off putting but they blended it perfectly.
