Guess we are miserable

Miserable? nah. Tired of losing and frustrated? Absolutely. I just have to keep in mind, eventually there will have to be a light at the end of this tunnel. I also do not believe any real fan of this program actually expected much out of this season. We were given a schedule that would make bama and Oregon piss their pants, and we're taking it on headfirst with slightly better than CUSA talent on the field and a 1st yr coach installing a totally new system.
Saying that, was I the only one who was thrilled to see the reactions from Butch on the sideline? No more snobby Kiffin smirks, and dooley deer in the headlights blank stares....A coach that genuinely gets into the game and knows what he wants from this team and will get on his guys when they don't play to his level of expectations. There is still a lot Dooley in this team and that will leave with time but we cannot quit on CBJ! I said on another thread earlier this week that in Saban's first year at bama he all but conceded that season with the future in mind. Do I want to throw the white flag in for this season? No, but I also have come to terms that this season is going to be tough to swallow. As long as the staff continues to coach these guys up and I see improvements(which I have, win or loss) going along with good recruiting I can smile with the idea of a future that will see the end of all these streaks.

So... You expected us to beat two top 20 teams? Oregon is a beast this year and Florida's defense was too much.

Just because you expect the worst doesn't mean you are happy when it arrives. Expectations have nothing to do with it.

That said, I didn't expect us to look as inept as Nichols State against Oregon. That was a bit of a surprise. Florida wasn't remotely surprising, but miserable all the same.

This team is right on projection. I'm very pleased, you can see spirit in this team. Still got a shot at six and a bowl. Anyone thinking better for this team is drinking to much orange. Next year could be a repeat.

Great post! I love the intensity Butch brings to the side-line! I am just as sick and tired of losing as everybody else on this board but I can't help but notice all the little things that are being drillled into our players. I have noticed discipline and players fighting to the bitter end! I do not expect a lot out of this season but I am going to sit back and enjoy each win and tolerate each loss. As long as our guys keep improving each game and absolutely never quit then I am willing to watch this "proccess" over the next couple of years!

Does the fact that I am not miserable make me less of a fan then the miserables who think we should just cancell the rest of our games?

USC should be ranked higher than us. They have that angry fan going off on YouTube.

Yes, you are half of fan compared to the doom and gloomers. How did you not get the memo that being self-defecating is a new UT tradition???? :)

You and others can feel miserable all you want to, but I refuse to be so. I might get mad when we lose when we could have won, but I will not stay miserable. Life is too short.

The problems with this team are:
A. Kiffin
B. Dooley
C. Hamilton

Thankfully the above three will be flushed out of the system in a few years.

No it doesn't. You get one or two days. After that if you are still miserable then....idk......I use to be depressed all week when I was like 14. You have to look at the positives.
And have a life.

WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK.

GO VOLS!

Wow, this is rare...... A unrealistic Vol Fan expects a NC from a first year coach with the hardest schedule in the nation. Get used to feeling miserable OP or temper your expectations.

When you reach my age (60+) you realize that being able to still watch Tennessee football is a privilege. I'm like you and still get frustrated at times with the team but I will always support them.
