Apparently, I'm extremely insecure. Mmmm. Never thought of it in that light before.

Still waiting on the permit in the mail...If my instructor was correct, should be here this week or next.

Been looking at Sig 1911s. Anyone have any experience?

No experience, but I doubt you'll find a bad review on it. Sig is solid from top to bottom.

A house down the street was broken into a few nights ago. Now my woman wants me to get a gun. I wouldn't be opposed to owning a handgun, but would choose not to have one if given the choice straight up.

What should I do?

This seems like one of those things where somebody got paid to do a study where overeating makes you fat. Verne Troyer is a pretty laughable threat by himself. With a gun he can kill you as fast as anybody else with a gun. No mystery here.

Why wouldn't you want to have gun?

OK, honest question; do guns scare you? (It's ok to answer yes, especially if you have little or no familiarity with them)

To be honest, I'm not that interested in hunting so if I ever own a firearm, it will most likely be an antique or something similar to display.

If you're not comfortable with it, you shouldn't get one.

Besides, for home defense, it's hard to beat a good shotgun.

For that purpose there are some amazing replicas out there. Pick a historical piece you fancy and get a display model. You wouldn't even have to worry about having it out in the open. (all my real guns stay in a safe when not in use)
