VN,

I recently did all the big life changes- got married and moved to Colorado. Wish me luck.

Couple of things I could use your help on:

1. Any vols in the area? I became a recluse and live at 10,000 feet in the mountains west of Denver- would love to catch a game or two with some folks if we have any local presence.

2. Mountain time is stupid - espn doesn’t like to tell what time things come on (had issues catching the baseball World Series because it doesn’t tell time zone- does it usually post everything in eastern?

3. My username is GeorgiaVol22- has been for a very long time- should I change it with the move? Ha

4. I’ll be in Knoxville for USCe and TAMU- gonna be the yearly thing for me and my brother to catch a game or two together. Now that I’m not local does anyone have thoughts on hotels to try to book- never had to do that before? Should I head out to the outskirts or try to make it happen downtown?

Tombstone Well, bye short version - YouTube

I used to have to frequent Denver for work reasons and unfortunately spent a few football Saturdays there.

Indeed there is-or at least was an alumni group that met at a sports bar for the games. If memory serves, it would have been a bit south of downtown.

I met up with them twice I believe and did a few games at just random bars.

Unfortunately,, this has been 10-12 years ago so I have no other information handy. I found them via a FB group-or considering the time that has elapsed perhaps even Myspace. The group watching the games was fairly small-maybe 15 people.

Next time I am at my storage bin, I will pull out the laptop I would have been using at the time and see if I can find some contact info for you.

You might also want to contact the alumni association-or I am sure by now they probably have a pretty decent website. Not sure about the one for UT but my GT one has a listing of alumni groups and contact info pretty much everywhere in the world
All big cities have UT alumni clubs. I met up with the one in Dalllas when I lived in Texas. A quick search for Denver Vol alumni club brings up several things to check out.

My daughter lived in Westminster (NW suburb of Denver) for the past 5 years but recently moved back home to North Georgia. My wife and I have been out to Colorado a few times including an overland trip through Great Sand Dunes National Park and the high passes around Ouray and Telluride. Southeast TN will always be home but if I had to move, I could see myself living in Colorado.

As you have probably realized by now, it has become Calirodo as all the Caliphonyians have invaded the state in an attempt to destroy it like the one they left behind in ruins.

I lived in Denver for a bit around 2001. Met up with the alumni club there. In August, there was an annual get together of all the SEC alums. Of the (at the time) 12 groups, 11 made the picnic/kegger. There was one that wasn't invited....Florida. They were such jerks the year before, 11 groups voted to not invite them.

I hope you can get a Jeep and explore some of the old mountain passes. I would love to stay out there a couple of months to explore. Lots of cool YouTube videos on those old trails

Ok- so if Freak approves I’ll officially be RockiesTop22…
Same 36 year old that lived in Georgia battling most his barking family and friends - became a vol thanks to my step brother- cried at the 98 championship- went to Lee university in Tennessee and made it up to every game I could.
Recruiting freak but don’t comment a lot because let’s face it- VN is wild. I do love my VN and look at it every single day of my life. Honestly thank all of y’all for giving me recommendations - I think I have a few to check out now and even a local Instagram page.
y’all are great (blue font or nah?) appreciate my family here and will be singing rockytop from these big A mountains- y’all might not hear it because my reception sucks
Good luck on the lodging reservations—our Airbnb has been booked up for every home game since February. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of choices still, just do it soon if you can. Also, we always like to invite out of towners to our tailgate. Plenty of food and drinks. Let me know if you’re interested, it’s right next to the stadium

Welcome to Colorado! I've lived in Colorado Springs since '97.

Trust me, you will learn to love Mountain Time.

My youngest son just moved to Wheat Ridge in January. Loves it out there so far. He's a GT man so not into CFB so much. I did just send him a Weatherby rifle.

I have lived in Fort Collins, Colorado for 33 years…transferred to Colorado State from UT in 1990. I own a bar in old town and typically have the Tennessee games on as priority over all other games. It’s the oldest bar in Fort Collins at 114 years old…called the Town Pump.

I also have a bar in the basement of my house and often watch games there. You’re more than welcome to come watch a game.

I’m 50 miles north of Denver. Holla at me sometime…send me a pm.

Lived in Denver for about two years for a nursing travel assignment. Moved back home to Nashville a year ago this week for a job. “You don’t know what you had until it’s gone”. I miss being out there (not the Denver city). I would pick some Idaho Springs or Arvada. My fiancée is from South Dakota so I could see us moving back eventually.

But I never did find a Vol bar. I mostly went to Stoneys to get a good sports atmosphere.

Bahahaha, I am leaving GA, too. Moving to Gibsonville, NC. I think it will be easier to deal with the TarHeel fans than the Bulldogs… but Georgia has been a good place to raise kids.

Not in CO, but 4hrs north of you in Casper, WY. We made the move out here last year. You’ll get used to the mountain time zone. I always keep in mind we’re 2hrs behind to watch games. I’m also going to the USCe game but staying at my dads so can’t really give advice as where to stay, but I’d shoot for the outskirts and take an Uber to/from the games.
